8afde59054 macOS: Default to modern linker on x64
This patch changes the default macOS x64 linker from the slower legacy
"classic" linker, to the much faster default modern macOS linker. A new
CMake option `WITH_LEGACY_MACOS_X64_LINKER` was also introduced to use
the old linker, set to OFF by default.

As an example from testing on an Intel Macbook, this makes linking time
go from 3min25s to 10s after this change. The reason why the legacy
linker was enforced on x64 in the first place was to silence "platform
load command not found" warnings during linking. Since this behavior is
still desired on the BuildBot, the `WITH_LEGACY_MACOS_X64_LINKER` option
is enforced in the BuildBot macOS configs.

2c9ab53273 Add 'system python' validation for some py scripts.
The goal of this test is to try to import some critical py scripts with the
system python of the building machine.
The main target is to ensure that these py scripts remain usable by all
buildbot machines, as some of them are using fairly outdated python
versions.

Current status:
* Scripts in `build_files` and `docs` are checked.
* Some python scripts in `build_files` were 'reverted' to be compatible
with older required python version currently (3.6).
* A few scripts are excluded from the test, mostly because they use Blender's
`bpy` module, which means they are only intended to be ran with Blender's
  python anyway.
* The test is only enabled for Linux buildbots currently, as they use the
  oldest Python by far.

Notes:
* Some more scripts are likely to be moved around in the future.
* Whether these tests need to be enabled on windows or macos platforms remains
  an open question.

f58522fc10 Cycles: Tweak scheduling of GPU kernel compilation
This change makes it so only kernels of the same vendor are compiled in
parallel. For example for the release builds it will be:

1. All CUDA kernels
2. All OptiX kernels
3. All HIP kernels
4. All OneAPI kernels

This potentially leads to a lower CPU utilization, but it makes it much
easier to manage memory usage and tweak per-vendor concurrency.

The goal of this change is to solve occasional out-of-memory during the
GPU kernels compilation step on the CI/CD farm.

This change also includes tweaks to the prallel jobs for HIP-RT and
oneAPI. The tweak is based on measuring apparent memory usage peak on
Linux when doing single-thread compilation, and giving some safe margin
from the available memory on the buildbot.

26ed4d3892 Cycles: Linux Support for HIP-RT
This change switches Cycles to an opensource HIP-RT library which
implements hardware ray-tracing. This library is now used on
both Windows and Linux. While there should be no noticeable changes
on Windows, on Linux this adds support for hardware ray-tracing on
AMD GPUs.

The majority of the change is typical platform code to add new
library to the dependency builder, and a change in the way how
ahead-of-time (AoT) kernels are compiled. There are changes in
Cycles itself, but they are rather straightforward: some APIs
changed in the opensource version of the library.

There are a couple of extra files which are needed for this to
work: hiprt02003_6.1_amd.hipfb and oro_compiled_kernels.hipfb.
There are some assumptions in the HIP-RT library about how they
are available. Currently they follow the same rule as AoT
kernels for oneAPI:
- On Windows they are next to blender.exe
- On Linux they are in the lib/ folder

1330d0ddda Cycles render tests: Add the option to test with OSL enabled
This commit adds a new cmake variable `WITH_CYCLES_TEST_OSL`
that runs every Cycles test a second time with OSL enabled.

At the moment only CPU OSL is enabled. There are plans to enable
OptiX OSL in the future when stability issues with OptiX OSL
have been resolved.

Some render tests have been blocked from running until we can figure
out a fix. The most notiable being all the Pricincipled BSDF tests
as some of them are failing due to noise differences.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

2c22795dfd Build: upgrade pre-built libraries for Linux
Replace ../lib/linux_centos7_x86_64 with ../lib/linux_x86_64_glibc_228,
built with Rocky8 Linux, compatible with the VFX platform CY2023,
see: T99618.

- Update build-bot configuration.
- Remove unnecessary check for Blosc, this is part of OpenVDB lib now.
- Remove WITH_CXX11_ABI, always use new C++11 ABI now
- Replace centos7 by glibc_228 everywhere

Note that existing builds with cached paths pointing to
"../lib/linux_centos7_x86_64" will need to be updated.

20883841c7 Linux: stop using static libstdc++ for release builds
This is not compatible with upcoming shared libraries usage, where we can't
let each library have their own libstdc++ and safely exchange memory.

Hopefully it is no longer required either. This is from before Blender builds
were even made on CentOS 7, and there is no obvious reason it is still needed.

a2e00236d0 Revert "Codesign: Versioning code to support older branches"
This reverts commit 9d172f007e.

Got a second thought and remembered why it was not done in the first place.
The issue here is that the server needs to communicate codesign result back
and that must happen within the new protocol. So if the client talks old
protocol it is possible to receieve data from it, but is not possible to
communicate result back to it.

3bb3b26c8f Cycles: Add CUDA 11 build support
With this patch the build system checks whether the "CUDA10_NVCC_EXECUTABLE" CMake
variable is set and if so will use that to build sm_30 kernels. Similarily for sm_8x kernels it
checks "CUDA11_NVCC_EXECUTABLE". All other kernels are built using the default CUDA
toolkit. This makes it possible to use either the CUDA 10 or CUDA 11 toolkit by default and
only selectively use the other for the kernels where its a hard requirement.

a86b5df005 Blender: change bugfix release versioning from a/b/c to .1/.2/.3
The file subversion is no longer used in the Python API or user interface,
and is now internal to Blender.

User interface, Python API and file I/O metadata now use more consistent
formatting for version numbers. Official releases use "2.83.0", "2.83.1",
and releases under development use "2.90.0 Alpha", "2.90.0 Beta".

Some Python add-ons may need to lower the Blender version in bl_info to
(2, 83, 0) or (2, 90, 0) if they used a subversion number higher than 0.
https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/2.83/Python_API#Compatibility

This change is in preparation of LTS releases, and also brings us more
in line with semantic versioning.
