4d91f5c8ef Fix #146588: raise exception when attempting invalid idproperty renaming in Python
Each name has to be unique within a group, so when renaming an idproperty, one
has to make sure that the parent group does not contain duplicates afterwards.
This patch raises a `NameError` when setting the name to one that exists
already. Alternatively, one could delete the already-existing property, but that
seems unexpected and the user should rather do that explicitly.

This also adds a new unit test for this case.

84511b8509 Core: add type checks to ID property accessors
Since moving the C++ ID property access macros cast "const" away,
replace with get/set accessors and add asserts that correct types
are used.

715a8268fa Build: resolve errors & deprecation warnings with Python 3.14 beta
Python 3.14 has moved some functionality into the public API,
use the updated names even with older Python versions.

Also resolve an error caused by variable reuse with delayed annotation
evaluation for TextureProperties_MixIn on startup.

Resolve #140695.

647927a330 Fix IDP_MergeGroup_ex not taking 'ID management' flags as parameter.
For IDProperties, this flag is mostly used only to controll whether
IDProperty code should also handle ID refcounting or not (through
`LIB_ID_CREATE_NO_USER_REFCOUNT`).

Without this fix, IDProp Group Merge could end up trying to modify ID
refcount of its data-block properties (via `IDP_FreeProperty`), which
can lead to data corruption or even crashes (e.g. when used in readfile
code, before lib-linking process).

Issue discovered while working on the system IDProperties split project
(!135807).

bb89c89e7f Cleanup: python: Replace 'void' MEM_[cm]allocN with templated, type-safe MEM_[cm]allocN<T>.
The main issue of 'type-less' standard C allocations is that there is no check on
allocated type possible.

This is a serious source of annoyance (and crashes) when making some
low-level structs non-trivial, as tracking down all usages of these
structs in higher-level other structs and their allocation is... really
painful.

MEM_[cm]allocN<T> templates on the other hand do check that the
given type is trivial, at build time (static assert), which makes such issue...
trivial to catch.

NOTE: New code should strive to use MEM_new (i.e. allocation and
construction) as much as possible, even for trivial PoD types.

3bcfb151c1 PyDoc: use Python's type annotation syntax for doc-strings
Replace plain-text type information with the type syntax used
for Python's type annotations as it's more concise, especially for
callbacks which often didn't include useful type information.

Note that this change only applies to inline doc-strings,
generated doc-strings from RNA need to be updated separately.

Details:

- Many minor corrections were made when "list" was incorrectly used
  instead of "sequence".
- Some type information wasn't defined in the doc-strings and has been
  added.
- Verbose type info would benefit from support for type aliases.

de47fee2e1 Fix #126156: Do not allow to assign embedded IDs to IDProperties.
This is just not supported, and typically not doable from Blender UI
(since embedded IDs won't be listed in ID template list).

Add asserts to IDProp code itself, and checks & error reports in
relevant BPY and RNA setters.

5dfc197262 IDProp: BPY: Support assigning large int values to float properties.
Allow assigning integer values beyond int32 range to float/double
IDProperties. Extract the py object value into a temporary int64 value
in these cases.

4d1fe98604 IDProps: Add 'static type' option to IDProperties.
This implements (most of) the proposal in #122743:

* Add a new `IDP_FLAG_STATIC_TYPE` IDProperty flag.
* Update `BPy_IDProperty_Map_ValidateAndCreate` and related to never
  change an existing property type if statically typed.

The biggest change happens in bpy assignement code, since instead of
replacing the old exisitng property by a newly created one, and copying
over a few settings, now the old property is kept if possible, and a new
one is only created if needed.

And in case the existing property is statically typed, if it cannot be
re-used to store the given value, and error is reported and it remains
unchanged.

`IDP_ARRAY` is also supported for basic numeric types, so 'vector'
properties and such work as expected. Lentgh is considered as part of
the static type (i.e. one can only assign a 3 components py sequence to
a 3-len array property, etc.).

Such in-place update is not yet implemented for `IDP_IDPARRAY` and
`IDP_GROUP` types. While important (especially the group one), they are
not that critical for the current issues related to changing IDProperty
types.

89e790d2a4 Cleanup: Improve/fix some IDProperty comments and TODOs.
Mainly correct/update some comments (e.g. missing reference to Boolean
type), and add some notes essentially about issues with current IDProp
String code (see also #86960 ).

No functional change.

896b552672 Fix: Unable to change ID property type to Boolean
Caused by 0cdd429b44.

Steps to reproduce:
- Add a custom property to the default Cube object
- Open property editor
- Change type to Boolean
- Apply the changes

Observe that the property is still Int.

On a code side the issue is caused by the change in the idp_from_PyBool()
which used to return property of type IDP_BOOLEAN before the change, but
IDP_INT after the change.

0cdd429b44 Cleanup: Use newer API for creating IDProperties in most places
There are still a few places that are more complicated where the replacement
to `IDP_New` isn't obvious, but this commit replaces most uses of the ugly
`IDPropertyTemplate` usage.

91466f71f1 Fix #91256, #112646: IDProperty UI data lost when changing type
With some data-type conversions we can do a best-effort conversion of
UI data like default values and min and max to the new data type.
This can help to make Python scripts simpler and to avoid bugs like
#105965.

just for C code that hasn't been moved to C++ yet.

d377ef2543 Clang Format: bump to version 17
Along with the 4.1 libraries upgrade, we are bumping the clang-format
version from 8-12 to 17. This affects quite a few files.

If not already the case, you may consider pointing your IDE to the
clang-format binary bundled with the Blender precompiled libraries.

1058a93994 Fix #106696: Invalid flag combinations used in #PyObject_GetBuffer
Code using #PyObject_GetBuffer was combining the `PyBUF_FORMAT` and
`PyBUF_SIMPLE` flags, but the documentation specifies that
`PyBUF_FORMAT` can be |'d to any of the flags except `PyBUF_SIMPLE`
because the latter already implies format `B` (unsigned bytes).

The flags in such cases have been replaced with
`PyBUF_ND | PyBUF_FORMAT`, which has the additional requirement that the
buffer must provide it's `shape` field.

This fixes `memoryview` objects raising a `BufferError` when requested,
due to the invalid combination of flags making them be considered
invalid buffers when they would otherwise be valid.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.
