b87b58b07e OBJ Export: Update 'bitflag smoothgroup' to also consider boundary vertices.
Previous code would consider two different face groups sharing no common
edges as fully isolated from each other, and could assign them the same
bitflag facegroup value.

Following FBX recent option to export these bitflags smoothgroups (!135646),
also consider that two different face groups are connected if they only share
common vertices, and assign them different bitflags values.

NOTE: This seems to be the expected behavior in major DCCs actually
using smoothgroups, only considering boundary edges create groups that
generate broken shading when imported by these tools.

NOTE: The 'unique integer identifers' option is kept for OBJ exporter,
as such OBJ files are also found on internet, depending on which app
generated them.

b13e085109 OBJ Import: Improved NURBS curve support
Adds support of NURBS weights or "rat bspline" in OBJ terms.
Tries to guess Blender knot mode better:

- Detects and closes loops. This decision is based on geometry only. No metadata is provided in OBJ for this, so importer has checkbox to disable this feature.
- Bezier knot mode allows to import circles and circular arcs.

9c36cfb4b8 Fix: Use error reports as indication of cancellation for some IO ops
During development of Collection Export, it was noticed that our various
IO formats deal with errors in vastly different ways [1]. The crashes
were all fixed but now the motivating scenario is as follows:

If you setup a Collection Exporter for OBJ, STL, or PLY, and if it
runs into an error during processing, the C++ operator will return
"FINISHED" to the caller but the operator will also RPT_ERROR. This
causes the caller, Collection Export, to indicate "success" to the user
but the RPT_ERROR then causes a UI report that indicates failure.

This PR chooses to use the presence of the RPT_ERROR as indication of
"CANCELLED" operator status and should be safe enough to also apply
to 4.2 LTS.

This aligns with what Python does [2] and with what the new GSoC import
nodes have chosen to do [3]. Though doing this on import isn't quite
correct so this PR does not add that in to the base import operators.

Alembic and USD are better behaved in this scenario already. However,
they have their own quirks to follow-up afterwards.

b773eca1b5 IO: Use panels for Alembic, OBJ, PLY, and STL
Instead of using "box" layouts for these import/export operators, use
panels instead.

Motivation for doing so is two fold.

Firstly the use of panels instead of boxes is more consistent with other
parts of Blender and with other IO addons implemented in Python (FBX,
glTF, 3ds, etc.)

Secondly, in the case of an Import invoked from drag-n-drop or Export
configured on a Collection, the large number of options often exposed
results in very long layouts. Panels allow us to close some sections by
default and allows the user to open/close panels based on their own
needs in general.

Along the way some effort went into standardizing the layout and wording
used as much as possible.

USD is a bigger change and requires some additional coordination. It
will be submitted and reviewed separately.

761dd6c923 IO: enable mesh validation by default for STL, PLY & OBJ importers
When moving importers from Python to C++ validation was removed
(from PLY) & disabled by default (STL & OBJ) which re-introduces
crashes reported by users such as #31835.

Enable validation by default because crashes caused by imported data
should be avoided, especially since the crashes may happen later when
users enter edit-mode or run certain editing operations.

This does slow down importing, from testing a 236MB .OBJ it takes around
twice as long to import (~1.5 to ~3 seconds). Although validation can
be optimized to reduce the overhead ad well as run in parallel for
importers that load multiple objects.

The defaults for USD and Alembic remain unchanged since this was never
enabled by default, although we could consider enabling these as well.

509a7870c3 Collection Exporters: Enable file exporters to be specified on Collections
This implements the ability to have file exporters added and configured on Collections.

Exporting is reachable from several locations:
- Individually on each exporter configuration: The `Export` button in each panel header
- For all exporters on the collection: The `Export All` button in the main panel interface
- For all exporters on all collections in the scene: The `File`->`Export All Collections` button

Visibility of which collections currently have exporters configured is done by ways of an icon added to the Collection row in the Outliner.

Adding multiple exporters for the same file type is permitted. The user is free to setup several exports of the same format but with different file locations or settings etc.

Notes:
Only USD and Wavefront OBJ are enabled for the initial commit. Additional formats, including those implemented in Python will be added as separate commits after this.

5d9e127234 Fix: Proper error handling for STL, PLY, and OBJ IO
Properly handle exceptions from STL and PLY code to prevent crashes on
invalid file paths.

This will now also Report errors/warnings to the callers of these

continuing.

d4bc3bd08d IO: Add file handlers to c++ import operators
Adds file handlers for the C++ import operators.
This will allow these operators to be invoked with drag-and-drop
filepath data in the 3D Viewport or the Outliner.

When the operators are called with drag-and-drop data a dialog popup
will be used instead of invoking the file select window.

Previously OPTYPE_REGISTER tag had no effect, now since these operators
can run as popup dialogs this flag is removed to prevent heavy io
operations in the redo panel.

Also includes drawing functions for ply and stl and a missing
event notifications to collada import.

Important: Presets can override file path properties, so if a preset is
used, file paths provided by drag and drop will be lost. This will be
addressed in follow up changes.

158dbc1b10 Cycles: Rework Principled BSDF Clearcoat
- Adds tint control, which simulates volumetric absorption inside the coating.
This results in angle-dependent saturation and affects all underlying layers
(diffuse, subsurface, metallic, transmission). It provides a physically-based
alternative to ad-hoc effects such as tinted specular highlights.
- Renames the component from "Clearcoat" to "Coat", since it's no longer
necessarily clear now. This matches naming in e.g. other renderers or OpenPBR.
- Adds an explicit Coat IOR input, in preparation for future smarter IOR logic
around the interaction between Coat and main IOR. This used to be hardcoded
  to 1.5.
- Removes hardcoded 0.25 weight multiplier, and adds versioning code to update
existing files accordingly. OBJ import/export still applies the factor.
- Replaces the GTR1 microfacet component with regular GGX. This removes a corner
case in the Microfacet code, solves #53038, and makes us more consistent with
other standard surface shaders. The original Disney BSDF used GTR1, but it
doesn't appear that it caught on in the industry.

b5c89822ac RNA: return PointerRNA from rna create functions
There are a couple of functions that create rna pointers. For example
`RNA_main_pointer_create` and `RNA_pointer_create`. Currently, those
take an output parameter `r_ptr` as last argument. This patch changes
it so that the functions actually return a` PointerRNA` instead of using
the output parameters.

This has a few benefits:
* Output parameters should only be used when there is an actual benefit.
Otherwise, one should default to returning the value.
* It's simpler to use the API in the large majority of cases (note that this
patch reduces the number of lines of code).
* It allows the `PointerRNA` to be const on the call-site, if that is desired.

No performance regression has been measured in production files.
If one of these functions happened to be called in a hot loop where
there is a regression, the solution should be to use an inline function
there which allows the compiler to optimize it even better.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.
