d061b00455 Refactor: Eliminate various unsafe memcpy and memset
Some of these already have warnings with clang-tidy, others are more
safe in case these structs get (copy) constructors in the future.

9c237af041 Refactor: RNA: add discrete suffix to RNA_pointer_create.
This is a noisy preliminary step to the 'RNA ancestors' change. The
rename helps clearly tell what each `pointer_create` function does.

c607ead4b7 Refactor: Makesrna: move generated code further in C++.
This commit moves generated `RNA_blender.h`, `RNA_prototype.h` and
`RNA_blender_cpp.h` headers to become C++ header files.

It also removes the now useless `RNA_EXTERN_C` defines, and just
directly use the `extern` keyword. We do not need anymore `extern "C"`
declarations here.

01484ce5d2 Fix (unreported) memoryleak in tests in some cases.
The call to `GHOST_DisposeSystemPaths` was done in `WM_exit_ex` and
_some_ of the tests' 'teardown'. But some more where missing. Issue was
only reproducible when defining `WITH_CXX_GUARDEDALLOC` cmake option.

There are several layers of issues here, this commit addresses the
first, simplest one: since `BKE_appdir` API will indirectly create the
GHOST SystemPaths data, it is simpler and more logical to move the
deletion of this SystemPaths data in `BKE_appdir_exit()`. This avoids
exposing a fairly low-level implementation detail all over our codebase.

Further more, `WM_init` also does not need to explicitely call
`GHOST_CreateSystemPaths`, since it will be created automatically when
required.

b5c89822ac RNA: return PointerRNA from rna create functions
There are a couple of functions that create rna pointers. For example
`RNA_main_pointer_create` and `RNA_pointer_create`. Currently, those
take an output parameter `r_ptr` as last argument. This patch changes
it so that the functions actually return a` PointerRNA` instead of using
the output parameters.

This has a few benefits:
* Output parameters should only be used when there is an actual benefit.
Otherwise, one should default to returning the value.
* It's simpler to use the API in the large majority of cases (note that this
patch reduces the number of lines of code).
* It allows the `PointerRNA` to be const on the call-site, if that is desired.

No performance regression has been measured in production files.
If one of these functions happened to be called in a hot loop where
there is a regression, the solution should be to use an inline function
there which allows the compiler to optimize it even better.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

c1bc70b711 Cleanup: Add a copyright notice to files and use SPDX format
A lot of files were missing copyright field in the header and
the Blender Foundation contributed to them in a sense of bug
fixing and general maintenance.

This change makes it explicit that those files are at least
partially copyrighted by the Blender Foundation.

Note that this does not make it so the Blender Foundation is
the only holder of the copyright in those files, and developers
who do not have a signed contract with the foundation still
hold the copyright as well.

Another aspect of this change is using SPDX format for the
header. We already used it for the license specification,
and now we state it for the copyright as well, following the
FAQ:

a5578351c3 Auto-generate RNA-structs declarations in RNA_prototypes.h
So far it was needed to declare a new RNA struct to `RNA_access.h` manually.
Since 9b298cf3db we generate a `RNA_prototypes.h` for RNA property
declarations. Now this also includes the RNA struct declarations, so they don't
have to be added manually anymore.

c434782e3a File headers: SPDX License migration
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so
much space.

Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses

- C/C++/objc/objc++
- Python
- Shell Scripts
- CMake, GNUmakefile

While most of the source tree has been included

- `./extern/` was left out.
- `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they
  use different header conventions.

doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all
used identifiers.

c7a1e115b5 Tests: fix memory leak of GHOST system paths
Dispose of GHOST system paths when tearing down `BlendfileLoadingBaseTest`
and some other test cases. This prevents a memory leak.

A better solution would be to rework Blender's initialisation & teardown
structure, but that's outside the scope of this fix.

2bae11d5c0 EEVEE: Arbitrary Output Variables
This patch adds support for AOVs in EEVEE. AOV Outputs can be defined in the
render pass tab and used in shader materials. Both Object and World based
shaders are supported. The AOV can be previewed in the viewport using the
renderpass selector in the shading popover.

AOV names that conflict with other AOVs are automatically corrected. AOV
conflicts with render passes get a warning icon. The reason behind this is that
changing render engines/passes can change the conflict, but you might not notice
it. Changing this automatically would also make the materials incorrect, so best
to leave this to the user.

**Implementation**

The patch adds a copies the AOV structures of Cycles into Blender. The goal is
that the Cycles will use Blenders AOV defintions. In the Blender kernel
(`layer.c`) the logic of these structures are implemented.

The GLSL shader of any GPUMaterial can hold multiple outputs (the main output
and the AOV outputs) based on the renderPassUBO the right output is selected.
This selection uses an hash that encodes the AOV structure. The full AOV needed
to be encoded when actually drawing the material pass as the AOV type changes
the behavior of the AOV. This isn't known yet when the GLSL is compiled.

**Future Developments**

* The AOV definitions in the render layer panel isn't shared with Cycles.
Cycles should be migrated to use the same viewlayer aovs. During a previous
attempt this failed as the AOV validation in cycles and in Blender have
implementation differences what made it crash when an aov name was invalid.
This could be fixed by extending the external render engine API.
* Add support to Cycles to render AOVs in the 3d viewport.
* Use a drop down list for selecting AOVs in the AOV Output node.
* Give user feedback when multiple AOV output nodes with the same AOV name
  exists in the same shader.
* Fix viewing single channel images in the image editor [T83314]
* Reduce viewport render time by only render needed draw passes. [T83316]
