3943a39c08 Cleanup: rename dot to dot_export namespace
Without this, including `BLI_dot_export.hh` in `delaunay_2d.cc` causes a
compile error because the name `dot` is ambiguous.

3630fd78d5 Cleanup: Depsgraph: Avoid transative includes and type aliases
Instead of the monolothic `depsgraph_type.hh` header that includes
most types used in the despgraph, just add includes where they are
actually necessary. Also remove the `using` keywords for `std` types.
The lack of specificity isn't considered good practice nowadays.

Removing unnecessary transitive includes can help improve compile
times because the time spent parsing headers decreases. Using the
"include what you use" pattern makes futher improvements much
easier too, since it the path to further reduce transitive includes
becomes much clearer.

54a13d462f Debug: support getting dot graphs from Python
This allows building tools that simplify Blender core development.

The depsgraph already exposed the dot graph using the `debug_relations_graphviz`
method. This has been extended to return the data as a string. The filepath is
optional now.

Similar functions have been added for node trees. Note that these should be used
on evaluated node trees.

7047715c6b Fix #104798: Slow frame-change with objects in the scenes collection
Avoid re-copying the scene when the scene is tagged for frame change.

For scenes with many objects scrubbing & jumping between first/last
caused noticeably worse performances.

Resolve by:

- Returning false from need_tag_cow_before_update when the recalc flag
  is ID_RECALC_FRAME_CHANGE.
- Change deg_graph_tag_parameters_if_needed to consider
  ID_RECALC_FRAME_CHANGE a clean flag.

744f3b2823 Cleanup: Grammar in comments: Fix uses of "own"
"Own" (the adjective) cannot be used on its own. It should be combined
with something like "its own", "our own", "her own", or "the object's own".
It also isn't used separately to mean something like "separate".

Also, "its own" is correct instead of "it's own" which is a misues of the verb.

81a63153d0 Despgraph: Rename "copy-on-write" to "copy-on-evaluation"
The depsgraph CoW mechanism is a bit of a misnomer. It creates an
evaluated copy for data-blocks regardless of whether the copy will
actually be written to. The point is to have physical separation between
original and evaluated data. This is in contrast to the commonly used
performance improvement of keeping a user count and copying data
implicitly when it needs to be changed. In Blender code we call this
"implicit sharing" instead. Importantly, the dependency graph has no
idea about the _actual_ CoW behavior in Blender.

Renaming this functionality in the despgraph removes some of the
confusion that comes up when talking about this, and will hopefully
make the depsgraph less confusing to understand initially too. Wording
like "the evaluated copy" (as opposed to the original data-block) has
also become common anyway.

This node is needed to ensure evaluation order of scene and modifiers

Move it to own component, so that evaluation of scene does not lead

4b47b46f9c Cleanup: rename PIL to BLI
The term `PIL` stands for "platform independent library." It exists since the `Initial Revision`

acbd952abf Cleanup: fewer iostreams related includes from BLI/BKE headers
Including <iostream> or similar headers is quite expensive, since it
also pulls in things like <locale> and so on. In many BLI headers,
iostreams are only used to implement some sort of "debug print",
or an operator<< for ostream.

Change some of the commonly used places to instead include <iosfwd>,
which is the standard way of forward-declaring iostreams related
classes, and move the actual debug-print / operator<< implementations
into .cc files.

This is not done for templated classes though (it would be possible
to provide explicit operator<< instantiations somewhere in the
source file, but that would lead to hard-to-figure-out linker error
whenever someone would add a different template type). There, where
possible, I changed from full <iostream> include to only the needed
<ostream> part.

For Span<T>, I just removed print_as_lines since it's not used by
anything. It could be moved into a .cc file using a similar approach
as above if needed.

Doing full blender build changes include counts this way:
- <iostream> 1986 -> 978
- <sstream> 2880 -> 925

It does not affect the total build time much though, mostly because
towards the end of it there's just several CPU cores finishing
compiling OpenVDB related source files.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

f3f05daf11 Cleanup: Remove unused "Simulation" data-block
This data-block was originally added in eb4e3bbe68.
However, that original plan wasn't fully implemented, with simulations
now integrated with geometry nodes and modifiers instead of a separate
data-block. We kept the data-block around anyway since we have the
loose plan of using a similar data-block to make global simulations
connected between multiple objects. But it may be a while before we
implement that, and in the meantime having this just causes confusion.

c1bc70b711 Cleanup: Add a copyright notice to files and use SPDX format
A lot of files were missing copyright field in the header and
the Blender Foundation contributed to them in a sense of bug
fixing and general maintenance.

This change makes it explicit that those files are at least
partially copyrighted by the Blender Foundation.

Note that this does not make it so the Blender Foundation is
the only holder of the copyright in those files, and developers
who do not have a signed contract with the foundation still
hold the copyright as well.

Another aspect of this change is using SPDX format for the
header. We already used it for the license specification,
and now we state it for the copyright as well, following the

a12a8a71bb Remove "All Rights Reserved" from Blender Foundation copyright code
The goal is to solve confusion of the "All rights reserved" for licensing
code under an open-source license.

The phrase "All rights reserved" comes from a historical convention that
required this phrase for the copyright protection to apply. This convention
is no longer relevant.

However, even though the phrase has no meaning in establishing the copyright
it has not lost meaning in terms of licensing.

This change makes it so code under the Blender Foundation copyright does
not use "all rights reserved". This is also how the GPL license itself
states how to apply it to the source code:

<one line to give the program's name and a brief idea of what it does.>
    Copyright (C) <year> <name of author>

This program is free software ...

This change does not change copyright notice in cases when the copyright
is dual (BF and an author), or just an author of the code. It also does
mot change copyright which is inherited from NaN Holding BV as it needs
some further investigation about what is the proper way to handle it.

4d67a995d9 Fix: crash when evaluating geometry nodes after deleting an unlinked node
This was essentially a use-after-free issue. When a geometry nodes
group changes it has to be preprocessed again before it can be evaluated.
This part was working, the issue was that parent node groups have to be
preprocessed as well, which was missing. The lazy-function graph cached
on the parent node group was still referencing data that was freed when
the child group changed.

Now the depsgraph makes sure that all relevant geometry node groups are
preprocessed again after a change.

This issue was found by Simon Thommes.

7e712b2d6a Nodes: refactor node tree update handling
Goals of this refactor:
* More unified approach to updating everything that needs to be updated
after a change in a node tree.
* The updates should happen in the correct order and quadratic or worse
  algorithms should be avoided.
* Improve detection of changes to the output to avoid tagging the depsgraph
  when it's not necessary.
* Move towards a more declarative style of defining nodes by having a
  more centralized update procedure.

The refactor consists of two main parts:
* Node tree tagging and update refactor.
  * Generally, when changes are done to a node tree, it is tagged dirty
until a global update function is called that updates everything in
    the correct order.
  * The tagging is more fine-grained compared to before, to allow for more
    precise depsgraph update tagging.
* Depsgraph changes.
  * The shading specific depsgraph node for node trees as been removed.
  * Instead, there is a new `NTREE_OUTPUT` depsgrap node, which is only
tagged when the output of the node tree changed (e.g. the Group Output
    or Material Output node).
  * The copy-on-write relation from node trees to the data block they are
embedded in is now non-flushing. This avoids e.g. triggering a material
update after the shader node tree changed in unrelated ways. Instead
the material has a flushing relation to the new `NTREE_OUTPUT` node now.
  * The depsgraph no longer reports data block changes through to cycles
through `Depsgraph.updates` when only the node tree changed in ways
that do not affect the output.

Avoiding unnecessary updates seems to work well for geometry nodes and cycles.
The situation is a bit worse when there are drivers on the node tree, but that
could potentially be improved separately in the future.

Avoiding updates in eevee and the compositor is more tricky, but also less urgent.
* Eevee updates are triggered by calling `DRW_notify_view_update` in
  `ED_render_view3d_update` indirectly from `DEG_editors_update`.
* Compositor updates are triggered by `ED_node_composite_job` in `node_area_refresh`.
This is triggered by calling `ED_area_tag_refresh` in `node_area_listener`.

Removing updates always has the risk of breaking some dependency that no
one was aware of. It's not unlikely that this will happen here as well. Adding
back missing updates should be quite a bit easier than getting rid of
unnecessary updates though.

aa7051c8f2 Fix T93439: Armature widgets from hidden collections are invisible
The are few things in the dependency graph which lead to the issue:
- IDs are only built once.
- Object-data level (Armature, i,e,) builder dependent on the object
  visibility.

This caused issues when an armature is first built as not directly
visible (via driver, i.e.) and then was built as a directly visible.
This did not update visibility flag on the node for the custom shape
object.

The idea behind the fix is to go away form passing object visibility
flag to the geometry-level builders and instead rely on the common
visibility flush post-processing to make sure certain objects are
fully visible when needed.

This is the safest minimal part of the change for 3.0 release which
acts as an additional way to ensure visibility. This means that it
might not be a complete fix (if some configuration was overseen) but
it should not make currently working cases to not work.

The fix should also make modifiers used on rigify widgets to work.

The more complete fix will have `is_object_visible` argument removed
from the geometry-level builder functions.
