354915cf3c Nodes: revert the inline (pass-through) socket feature
Inlined sockets in the same vertical space are no longer supported.
This removes `input_output` socket declarations, the inlining feature in
node drawing, and the `Both` option for node group interface sockets.

Versioning code splits existing node group sockets into individual
sockets again. Unfortunately some links may get lost in versioning files
using the feature, because of an unnoticed bug: Socket identifiers have
to be unique in the node group items list but inlined input/output
sockets have the same identifier. This still works for most situations
because uniqueness is only required within input/output lists. Creating
proper unique identifiers will discard any link from the previous output
socket. This cannot easily be fixed without `after_linking` versioning
code, which should be avoided.

a4a5ac545c UI: shorten node socket labels when they start with the panel name
Shortening names based on context is something we do in the user
interface throughout Blender. This is a simple automatic mechanism to do
it for node panels as well, which significantly improves the Principled
BSDF layout.

We want the properties and sockets to be identifiable outside of the
panel contextcontent, for example in the animation editor, API docs, or
when exposing a single socket as a group input. So making the actual
name shorter is not an option.

78315faf8f Fix #112490: Always draw socket icons in "hidden" nodes
In #112326 the socket visibility functions were updated to take the
open/closed state of panels into account for visibility of the socket
icon. However, in "hidden" (collapsed) nodes the panels should be
ignored entirely, drawing all sockets on the root level. This requires
looking at the node flags to determine socket icon visibility, so a
simple method of `bNodeSocket` is not sufficient.

This patch moves the more complex visibility queries for sockets into
`bNode`, where both node and socket flags can be accessed. These should
be used for actual visibility rather than the plain flag accessors on
`bNodeSocket`.

Renamed `is_visible_or_panel_closed` back to just `is_visible`, the
other `is_visible` variant is now integrated in `bNode::is_socket_drawn`.

5d77d8d832 Fix #112233: Panel collapsed state should not hide socket links
#112019 included open/closed state of the parent panel in socket
visibility calculation. This prevents dragging links, but also disables
other features that should still work, such as drawing links.

A narrower condition is needed for icon visibility vs. general socket
visibility. The cases which use the new `is_icon_visible` condition:
- Drawing socket selection outlines (same as unselected sockets)
- Drawing multi-input sockets (same as unselected sockets)
- `node_find_indicated_socket`, used by a wide range of mouse click
operators, including the link-drag operator that was cause for
  #112019.

Cases using the original `is_visible` (true even if parent panel is
collapsed):
- `nodeLinkIsHidden` draws links only when at least one socket is
  visible.
- `node_update_basis`, sockets still added to layout even if icon isn't
  rendered.
- `node_update_hidden`, panels are ignored for "hidden" nodes, all
  sockets are rendered.
- `NODE_OT_link_make` operator for finding "best" sockets to connect.
- `node_link_viewer` finding sockets to connect to a viewer node.
- `get_main_socket` used for insert-on-links (find sockets to splice
  into) and some shader previews
- `node_gather_link_searches`, suggestions for adding a new node at the
  end of a link.

0b3d473f12 Nodes: Draw node buttons between outputs and inputs for custom layouts
Node buttons/options are conventionally drawn between outputs and
inputs. With custom node layouts this is not so clear any more since
inputs and outputs can be mixed.

This patch simply draws buttons right before the first input, or at the
bottom if a node does not have input sockets. This ensures a layout
compatible with standard node drawing and does not require extra work.

Eventually an explicit declaration method could place buttons explicitly
but for now this yields a useful default behavior.

b5c89822ac RNA: return PointerRNA from rna create functions
There are a couple of functions that create rna pointers. For example
`RNA_main_pointer_create` and `RNA_pointer_create`. Currently, those
take an output parameter `r_ptr` as last argument. This patch changes
it so that the functions actually return a` PointerRNA` instead of using
the output parameters.

This has a few benefits:
* Output parameters should only be used when there is an actual benefit.
Otherwise, one should default to returning the value.
* It's simpler to use the API in the large majority of cases (note that this
patch reduces the number of lines of code).
* It allows the `PointerRNA` to be const on the call-site, if that is desired.

No performance regression has been measured in production files.
If one of these functions happened to be called in a hot loop where
there is a regression, the solution should be to use an inline function
there which allows the compiler to optimize it even better.

fa34992def Cleanup: Remove unnecessary includes from C++ data structure headers
The hash tables and vector blenlib headers were pulling many more
headers than they actually need, including the C base math header,
our C string API header, and the StringRef header. All of this
potentially slows down compilation and polutes autocomplete
with unrelated information.

Also remove the `ListBase` constructor for `Vector`. It wasn't used
much, and making it easy to use `ListBase` isn't worth it for the
same reasons mentioned above.

It turns out a lot of files depended on indirect includes of
`BLI_string.h` and `BLI_listbase.h`, so those are fixed here.

e071288ab2 Nodes: Panels integration with blend files and UI
Part 3/3 of #109135, #110272

Switch to new node group interfaces and deprecate old DNA and API.
This completes support for panels in node drawing and in node group
interface declarations in particular.

The new node group interface DNA and RNA code has been added in parts
1 and 2 (#110885, #110952) but has not be enabled yet. This commit
completes the integration by
* enabling the new RNA API
* using the new API in UI
* read/write new interfaces from blend files
* add versioning for backward compatibility
* add forward-compatible writing code to reconstruct old interfaces

All places accessing node group interface declarations should now be
using the new API. A runtime cache has been added that allows simple
linear access to socket inputs and outputs even when a panel hierarchy
is used.

Old DNA has been deprecated and should only be accessed for versioning
(inputs/outputs renamed to inputs_legacy/outputs_legacy to catch
errors). Versioning code ensures both backward and forward
compatibility of existing files.

The API for old interfaces is removed. The new API is very similar but
is defined on the `ntree.interface` instead of the `ntree` directly.
Breaking change notifications and detailed instructions for migrating
will be added.

A python test has been added for the node group API functions. This
includes new functionality such as creating panels and moving items
between different levels.

This patch does not yet contain panel representations in the modifier
UI. This has been tested in a separate branch and will be added with a
later PR (#108565).

acbd952abf Cleanup: fewer iostreams related includes from BLI/BKE headers
Including <iostream> or similar headers is quite expensive, since it
also pulls in things like <locale> and so on. In many BLI headers,
iostreams are only used to implement some sort of "debug print",
or an operator<< for ostream.

Change some of the commonly used places to instead include <iosfwd>,
which is the standard way of forward-declaring iostreams related
classes, and move the actual debug-print / operator<< implementations
into .cc files.

This is not done for templated classes though (it would be possible
to provide explicit operator<< instantiations somewhere in the
source file, but that would lead to hard-to-figure-out linker error
whenever someone would add a different template type). There, where
possible, I changed from full <iostream> include to only the needed
<ostream> part.

For Span<T>, I just removed print_as_lines since it's not used by
anything. It could be moved into a .cc file using a similar approach
as above if needed.

Doing full blender build changes include counts this way:
- <iostream> 1986 -> 978
- <sstream> 2880 -> 925

It does not affect the total build time much though, mostly because
towards the end of it there's just several CPU cores finishing
compiling OpenVDB related source files.

b8eb7d18e9 Nodes: experimental node previews in the shader editor
First implementation of node previews in the shader node editor. Using
the same user interface as compositor node previews, most shader nodes
can now be previewed (except group in/output and material output).

This is currently still an experimental feature, as polishing of the
user experience and performance improvements are planned. These will
be easier to do as incremental changes on this implementation.

See #110353 for details on the work that remains to be done and known
limitations.

Implementation notes:

We take advantage of the `RenderResult` available as `ImBuf` images to
store a `Render` for every viewed nested node tree present in a
`SpaceNode`. The computation is initiated at the moment of drawing nodes
overlays.

One render is started for the current nodetree, having a `ViewLayer`
associated with each previewed node. We separate the previewed nodes in
two categories: the shader ones and the non-shader ones.
- For non-shader nodes, we use AOVs which highly speed up the rendering
process by rendering every non-shader nodes at the same time. They are
  rendered in the first `ViewLayer`.
- For shader nodes, we render them each in a different `ViewLayer`, by
rerouting the node to the output of the material in the preview scene.

The preview scene takes the same aspect as the Material preview scene,
and the same preview object is used.

At the moment of drawing the node overlay, we take the `Render` of the
viewed node tree and extract the `ImBuf` of the wanted viewlayer/pass
for each previewed node.

3d73b71a97 Geometry Nodes: new Repeat Zone
This adds support for running a set of nodes repeatedly. The number
of iterations can be controlled dynamically as an input of the repeat
zone. The repeat zone can be added in via the search or from the
Add > Utilities menu.

The main use case is to replace long repetitive node chains with a more
flexible alternative. Technically, repeat zones can also be used for
many other use cases. However, due to their serial nature, performance
is very sub-optimal when they are used to solve problems that could
be processed in parallel. Better solutions for such use cases will
be worked on separately.

Repeat zones are similar to simulation zones. The major difference is
that they have no concept of time and are always evaluated entirely in
the current frame, while in simulations only a single iteration is
evaluated per frame.

Stopping the repetition early using a dynamic condition is not yet
supported. "Break" functionality can be implemented manually using
Switch nodes in the loop for now. It's likely that this functionality
will be built into the repeat zone in the future.
For now, things are kept more simple.

Remaining Todos after this first version:
* Improve socket inspection and viewer node support. Currently, only
the first iteration is taken into account for socket inspection
  and the viewer.
* Make loop evaluation more lazy. Currently, the evaluation is eager,
meaning that it evaluates some nodes even though their output may not
  be required.

98d675ac6c Geometry Nodes: make evaluation and logging system aware of zones
This refactors how a geometry nodes node tree is converted to a lazy-function
graph. Previously, all nodes were inserted into a single graph. This was fine
because every node was evaluated at most once per node group evaluation.
However, loops (#108896) break this assumption since now nodes may be
evaluated multiple times and thus a single flat graph does not work anymore.

Now, a separate lazy-function is build for every zone which gives us much
more flexibility for what can happen in a zone. Right now, the change only
applies to simulation zones since that's the only kind of zone we have.
Technically, those zones could be inlined, but turning them into a separate
lazy-function also does not hurt and makes it possible to test this refactor
without implementing loops first. Also, having them as separate functions
might help in the future if we integrate a substep loop directly into the
simulation zone.

The most tricky part here is to just link everything up correctly, especially
with respect to deterministic anonymous attribute lifetimes. Fortunately,
correctness can be checked visually by looking at the generated graphs.

The logging/viewer system also had to be refactored a bit, because now there
can be multiple different `ComputeContext` in a single node tree. Each zone
is in a separate `ComputeContext`. To make it work, the `ViewerPath` system
now explicitly supports zones and drawing code will look up the right logger
for showing inspection data.

No functional changes are expected, except that the spreadsheet now shows
"Simulation Zone" in the context path if the viewer is in a simulation.

f4124ee02d Cleanup: Move GeometrySet and components to proper namespace
Move `GeometrySet` and `GeometryComponent` and subclasses
to the `blender::bke` namespace. This wasn't done earlier since
these were one of the first C++ classes used throughout Blender,
but now it is common.

Also remove the now-unnecessary C-header, since all users of
the geometry set header are now in C++.
