7632c528de Docs: remove references to "above" in code comments & corrections
Reference identifiers instead of "above" in code comments as these
tends to become outdated. Even when declarations are removed it's at
least clear that the reference no longer exists instead of referring to
whatever is currently above the declaration.
It's also straightforward to search history for a removed identifier.

Corrected 4 cases of references to things that were no longer above
the doc-strings. Noticed other references which look to be incorrect
but need further investigation.

046a8f92eb Fix #123539: Object Info node incorrectly reports dependency cycle
Previously, the node checked for all possible missing evaluations first.
However, some of the outputs may still work even if using another one

ada367a0e9 Fix #119589: use-after-free when accessing not-fully-evaluated object geometry
While the evaluated result is not well defined, we expect Blender to not crash
when there are dependency cycles.

The evaluation of one object often takes the evaluated geometry of another
object into account. This works fine if the other object is already fully
evaluated. However, if there is a dependency cycle, the other object may not be
evaluated already. Currently, we have no way to check for this and were mostly
just relying on luck that the other objects geometry is in some valid state
(even if it's not the fully evaluated geometry).

This patch adds the ability to explicitly check if an objects geometry is fully
evaluated already, so that it can be accessed by other objects. If there are not
dependency cycles, this should always be true. If not, it may be false
sometimes, and in this case the other objects geometry should be ignored. The
same also applies to the object transforms and the geometry of a collection.

For that, new functions are added in `DEG_depsgraph_query.hh`. Those should be
used whenever accessing another objects or collections object during depsgraph
evaluation. More similar functions may be added in the future.
```
bool DEG_object_geometry_is_evaluated(const Object &object);
bool DEG_object_transform_is_evaluated(const Object &object);
bool DEG_collection_geometry_is_evaluated(const Collection &collection);
```

To determine if the these components are fully evaluated, a reference to the
corresponding depsgraph is needed. A possible solution to that is to pass the
depsgraph through the call stack to these functions. While possible, there are a
couple of annoyances. For one, the parameter would need to be added in many new
places. I don't have an exact number, but it's like 50 or so. Another
complication is that under some circumstances, multiple depsgraphs may have to
be passed around, for example when evaluating node tools (also see
`GeoNodesOperatorDepsgraphs`).

To simplify the patch and other code in the future, a different route is taken
where the depsgraph pointer is added to `ID_Runtime`, making it readily
accessible similar to the `ID.orig_id`. The depsgraph pointer is set in the same
place where the `orig_id` is set.

As a nice side benefit, this also improves the situation in simple cases like
having two cubes with a boolean modifier and they union each other.

1e359f4173 Fix #112742: File output node ignores colorspace overrides
The File Output node ignores color space overrides for EXR images. To
fix this, we save the images using save_as_render set to true. We don't

57669600b1 Fix (unreported) GeoNode modifiers keeps 'invalid' IDProps types forever.
In case a 'compatible' old IDProperty exists,
`update_input_properties_from_node_tree` would essentially reuse it
as-is, only keeping the UI data from the freshly new IDProp it created
for the socket.

This commit instead fully re-use the newly created idprop, only copying
(and converting as needed) the value from the old one.

That way, we can be sure that the actual type of the IDProperty is reset
to its expected type, instead of being kept forever in a 'wrong' type.

Having IDProps in a stable, expected type is a sounder behavior in
general, and critical for lower-levels of code to work as expected
(like RNA diffingi, and by extension, Library Overrides e.g.)

NOTE: This is a side-finding from work on #122743 to make some idprops
statically typed, and is a pre-requirement for this to work with the
GeoNodes modifiers case.

f913fb6159 USD: Add MaterialX shader export
This change adds the ability to export MaterialX networks into the resulting
USD layer.

Details:

A new export option has been added to the USD export to enable MaterialX
export. It is off by default currently due to reasons in the caveats
section.

When enabled, it exports the MaterialX shading network alongside the
UsdPreviewSurface network, on the same USD Material. This allows the same
material to be used by renderers that don't support MaterialX, using the
USDPreviewSurface as a fallback. This is similar to setups in other DCC
packages, and matches the format we've used in our Reality Composer Pro
asset library.

It uses the existing MaterialX framework used to generate MaterialX
documents for rendering, to act as the basis for the USD graph. In this
process it also re-uses the existing texture export code as well if provided
and necessary.

Once the MaterialX document is created, use usdMtlx to generate a USD
shading network. Unfortunately, usdMtlx generates a graph that is unlike
what other DCCs that support MaterialX-embedded-in-USD generates. It
generates several extra prim hierarchies, and externalizes all shader
inputs, making them difficult to edit in other MaterialX graph editors.

To workaround this, generate the MaterialX shading network onto a
temporary stage, where we then run various pre-processing steps to prevent
prim collisions and to reflow the paths once they're converted.

The PrimSpecs are then copied over to their new path. The resulting prim
hierarchy matches what many artists we've worked with prefer to work with.

Caveats:

The Export MaterialX check is off by default. When using the Principled
BSDF, the resulting graph is very usable. However, when using some of the
other BSDFs, the shading networks generated by the existing MaterialX
framework in Blender generate some shading graphs that are difficult for
usdview and other DCC's to understand. The graph is still correct, but
because we're trying to prioritize compatibility, the default is off.

In future PRs we can aim to make the graphs for those other BSDFs play
better with other DCCs.

Other Implementation Details:

As part of this commit we've also done the following:

* Place some of the materialx graphs inside a passthrough nodegraph to
  avoid node conflicts.
* Better handle some shader output types , and better handle some
  conflict cases.
* Moved the ExportTextureFunction to materials.h due to some difficult
to resolve header ordering issues. This has no effect on any runtime code.
* There is a test for the MaterialX export that does some basic checking to
make sure we get an export out the other end that matches our expectations

Authored by Apple: Dhruv Govil

This PR is based on an earlier implementation by Brecht van Lommel , as well
as Brian Savery and his teams' work at AMD to implement the general
MaterialX framework within Blender.

4f21b26675 Fix #121639: Glare shifts the colors of highlights
The Glare node shifts the color of the highlights when the threshold is
high. That's because the thresholding algorithm simply subtracts the
threshold from the RGB data, which is not expected to retain the same hue
of the color.

To fix this, we do the thresholding only on the luminance of the color
in HSV color space. This eliminates the color shifting and also helps to
smooth the edges of the highlights.

This is a breaking change, but it is more of a fix rather than a change
of behavior.

78c1c1a170 Geometry Nodes: support matrix socket in accumulate field node
This adds support for transform matrices in the accumulate field node. This is quite
useful to evaluate chains of parent matrices (although branching is not easily possible
with this approach).

The main tricky thing here is that matrices are generally accumulated using
multiplication and the order of multiplication matters. For other data types we
currently always use addition. I don't have use cases for other ways to accumulate
matrices right now, so maybe it's fine not to add additional options here for now.
It should be fairly straight forward to version this to support more accumulation
modes in the future. Additionally, I hope we get a more general solution for custom
accumulations at some point.

28cef56ad2 Geometry Nodes: support capturing multiple attributes at once
By capturing multiple attributes with one node, the user can make sure that those

The change is fully backward compatible. Forward compatibility has been added

newer version will still work in the older version.

cd5eb4aa03 Geometry Nodes: support renaming some sockets in the node directly
This adds support for renaming some sockets in the node UI directly by Ctrl+Clicking
on them. This is sometimes more convenient than going to the sidebar. It affects the
Menu Switch and Bake node as well as the Simulation and Repeat zone.

Some related notes:
* The Group Input and Group Output node are not yet supported, because it currently
breaks the right-alignment on the Group Input node. I couldn't find a workaround for
  this yet.
* Double-clicking on the socket name does not trigger renaming yet. This seems to
be a deeper issue in the interface code.
* The highlighting when hovering over sockets that can be renamed is very dim
making it hard to see. Alternatives like drawing a box around the label when hovering
it (like in list views) have been discussed but seem to be much more difficult to get to work.

Despite these limitations, it seems reasonable to add this already, as it shouldn't affect
anyone negatively. The nodes still look like before.

0dca908191 Compositor: Add GPU per-node execution time report
This patch adds support for timing GPU compositor executions. This was
previously not possible since there was no mechanism to measure GPU
calls, which is still the case. However, since 2cf8b5c4e1, we now flush
GPU calls immediately for interactive editing, so we can now measure the
GPU evaluation on the host, which is not a very accurate method, but it
is better than having no timing information. Therefore, timing is only
implemented for interactive editing.

This is different from the CPU implementation in that it measures the
total evaluation time, including any preprocessing of the inputs like
implicit type conversion as well as things like previews.

The profiling implementation was moved to the realtime compositor since
the compositor module is optional.

1b18e07232 Fix #121480: Cryptomatte shows some objects as black
The issue originates to the change in default view transform from Filmic
to AgX, which does slightly different clipping, and clips color to black
if there is any negative values.

This change implements an idea of skipping view transform for viewer
node when it is connected to the Pick output of the cryptomatte node.
It actually goes a bit deeper than this and any operation can tag its
result as a non-color data, and the viewer node will respect that.
It is achieved by passing some extra meta-data along the evaluation
pipeline. For the CPU compositor it is done via MetaData, and for the
GPU compositor it is done as part of Result.

Connecting any other node in-between of viewer and Cryptomatte's Pick
will treat the result as color values, and apply color management.

Connecting Pick to the Composite output will also consider it as color,
since there is no concept of non-color-managed render result.

An alternative approaches were tested, including:

- Doing negative value clamping at the viewer node.
It does not work for legacy cryptomatte node, as it needs to have
access to original non-modified Pick result.

- Change the order of components, and store ID in another channel.

Using one of other of Green or Blue channels might work for some view
transforms, but it does not work for AgX.

Using Alpha channel seemingly works better, but it is has different
issues caused by the fact that display transform de-associates alpha,
leading to over-exposed regions which are hard to see in the file from
the report. And might lead to the similar issues as the initial report
with other objects or view transforms.

- Use positive values in the Pick channel.

It does make things visible, but they are all white due to the nature
of how AgX works, making it not so useful as a result.

computation altogether when the ray length is zero.

44a647197e Cleanup: Avoid storage for active element geometry node
Recently we haven't been adding separate storage structs just to
store a single enum, partially with the hope these will be changed
to sockets in the future, but also because it isn't worth the boilerplate.
Missed in the review of #121333.

2fe92c63d3 Geometry Nodes: Add Active Element tool node
This pull request adds an "Active Element" node that exposes the active
vertex, edge, or face index to the geometry node tool context. The
presence of an active element is available as a boolean.

This node enables the creation of "active-to-selected" style operators.
