7a076d26a6 Fix: Guard against null operation in ImageNode::convert_to_operations
Properly guard the conditionals inside ImageNode::convert_to_operations
against null operations.

I've duplicated the null check in order to not add another layer of
nesting in an already very deep set of conditionals.

cccc1ea0eb Fix non-thread-safe access to multilayer image in Compositor
Conversion of compositor node tree to operation is done in a job thread,
and the main thread might modify the image data-block at the same time.

This change fixes it by making it so compositor uses acquire/release
semantic for the image data-block, and making it so the image locks its
render result, preventing other threads from modifying it.

a12bd38853 Fix: Non-thread-safe access to metadata in Compositor
Image's render result might get freed from another thread while the
compositor is running.

Add an utility function which invokes callback on the image's stamp
data from a thread-guarded block.

58e0ca99a9 Fix: Non-thread-safe access to image in Compositor
Image operation's get_im_buf() function was not thread-safe:
- It had TOCTOU issue around calculating multi-layer indices and
requesting to load the image buffer.
- It accessed render result, render layer and pass pointers without
  any thread guards.

This change moves all the logic needed to access the image buffer
into a single function with proper guards around the access. The
result is user-counted, so it is usable in a thread even if another
thread modifies the image.

The is still potential TOCTOU in the compositor since the image is
acquired twice: once from init_execution(), and once from the
determine_canvas(). It could cause issues if image resolution is
changed between these calls. It is still to be looked into.

fb6b759513 Cleanup: Avoid reference of RenderLayer and RenderPass in multilayer operation
This is avoids reference to data which can potentially be freed from the main
thread while the compositor job is running.

There is still some direct access to RenderResult and access to its layers
and passes in the operation implementation, but is is all internal and will
be worked on later. The purpose of this patch is to avoid unsafe pointers in
the API of the operation.

Should be no functional changes.

def1e8154e Cleanup: Move multi-layer view logic to the operation
There are a couple of goals achieved with this change:

- The logic itself is de-duplicated between the Image and Cryptomatte
  nodes.

- The logic which accesses render results, images, etc is more local
to the place where it needs to be used. Currently it does not matter
too much, but it allows to properly guard the access to be thread
  safe.

d377ef2543 Clang Format: bump to version 17
Along with the 4.1 libraries upgrade, we are bumping the clang-format
version from 8-12 to 17. This affects quite a few files.

If not already the case, you may consider pointing your IDE to the
clang-format binary bundled with the Blender precompiled libraries.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

e1b60fdb91 Remove Z Buffer from ImBuf
It was only used by OpenEXR and Iris images, and saving the Z Buffer
in those formats was disabled by default. This option comes from the
times prior to the addition of the Multilayer EXR.

It also worth noting that it was not possible to save Iris with Depth
pass from Blender as internally it is called IRIZ format and it was
not exposed. But even after exposing this format option something still
was missing as saving and loading ITIZ did not show up the Depth pass.

The reason of removal is to make it a more clear match of the ImBuf
with a render pass, and use it instead of a custom type in the render
result and render pass API. This will simplify the API and also avoid
stealing buffers and making shallow copies when showing the render
result.

For the cases when Depth is needed a Multilayer EXR is to be used,
as most likely more than just the Depth will be needed.

On a user level this change:

- Removes the "Z Buffer" option from the interface.

- It preserves existing sockets in compositor nodes, but it will
output black image. Also changing the image data-block will
remove the socket unless a Multilayer EXR with Depth pass image
  is selected.

- Removes "Depth" socket of the Viewer and Composite nodes.

c1bc70b711 Cleanup: Add a copyright notice to files and use SPDX format
A lot of files were missing copyright field in the header and
the Blender Foundation contributed to them in a sense of bug
fixing and general maintenance.

This change makes it explicit that those files are at least
partially copyrighted by the Blender Foundation.

Note that this does not make it so the Blender Foundation is
the only holder of the copyright in those files, and developers
who do not have a signed contract with the foundation still
hold the copyright as well.

Another aspect of this change is using SPDX format for the
header. We already used it for the license specification,
and now we state it for the copyright as well, following the
FAQ:

c434782e3a File headers: SPDX License migration
Use a shorter/simpler license convention, stops the header taking so
much space.

Follow the SPDX license specification: https://spdx.org/licenses

- C/C++/objc/objc++
- Python
- Shell Scripts
- CMake, GNUmakefile

While most of the source tree has been included

- `./extern/` was left out.
- `./intern/cycles` & `./intern/atomic` are also excluded because they
  use different header conventions.

doc/license/SPDX-license-identifiers.txt has been added to list SPDX all
used identifiers.

88aa056d1a Fix: Image node alpha socket converted to operations twice
On selecting a multi-layer image with a combined pass, a "Combined"
socket is created and default combined pass socket "Image" is
disabled by setting `SOCK_UNAVAIL` flag. When converting into
operations, `ImageNode` converts alpha socket on finding any socket with
a combined pass without checking the flag.

Since commit rB93e2491ee724 an assertion fails when mapping sockets
twice because now map `add_new` is used.
