60de2103c0 Fix: Crash when adding strips above channel 128
Crashes were caused by setting `Strip::machine` above `MAX_CHANNELS`
value.

Instead of clamping this value at multiple places, setter function
`seq::strip_channel_set` was added that implements clamping.

This also allows for better handling of clamping if it was ever needed.

Function `strip_transform_handle_expand_to_fit` still sets machine value
directly and above `MAX_CHANNELS` as a hack. This could be avoided, but
it would require some refactoring.

1d76cbab64 Cleanup: sequencer: Replace 'void' MEM_[cm]allocN with templated, type-safe MEM_[cm]allocN<T>.
The main issue of 'type-less' standard C allocations is that there is no check on
allocated type possible.

This is a serious source of annoyance (and crashes) when making some
low-level structs non-trivial, as tracking down all usages of these
structs in higher-level other structs and their allocation is... really
painful.

MEM_[cm]allocN<T> templates on the other hand do check that the
given type is trivial, at build time (static assert), which makes such issue...
trivial to catch.

NOTE: New code should strive to use MEM_new (i.e. allocation and
construction) as much as possible, even for trivial PoD types.

a08246a1a2 Refactor: Move VSE code to namespaces
This PR creates 2 namespaces for VSE code:
- `blender::seq` for sequencer core code
- `blender::ed::vse` for editor code

These names are chosen to not be in conflict with each other.
No namespace was used for RNA.

Finally, file `BKE_sequencer_offscreen.h` was moved from BKE to sequencer.

c47a4b1e13 Refactor: VSE: Remove scene dependency of SEQ_lookup_* functions
Instead of passing the `scene`, pass a pointer to the `Editing` struct.
This is the struct that owns the `StripLookup` in its `runtime`
so there isn't a good reason to use the `scene` pointer here
anyways.

920e709069 Refactor: Make header files more clangd and clang-tidy friendly
When using clangd or running clang-tidy on headers there are
currently many errors. These are noisy in IDEs, make auto fixes
impossible, and break features like code completion, refactoring
and navigation.

This makes source/blender headers work by themselves, which is
generally the goal anyway. But #includes and forward declarations
were often incomplete.

* Add #includes and forward declarations
* Add IWYU pragma: export in a few places
* Remove some unused #includes (but there are many more)
* Tweak ShaderCreateInfo macros to work better with clangd

Some types of headers still have errors, these could be fixed or
worked around with more investigation. Mostly preprocessor
template headers like NOD_static_types.h.

Note that that disabling WITH_UNITY_BUILD is required for clangd to
work properly, otherwise compile_commands.json does not contain
the information for the relevant source files.

655a17a6ab Refactor: VSE: Rename Sequence to Strip
This renames the struct `Sequence` to `Strip`.

While the motivation for this partially comes from
the "Sequence Design" #131329, it seems like this
is a good refactor whether the design gets implemented
or not.

The `Sequence` represents what users see as strips in the
VSE. Many places in the code already refere to a `Sequence`
as "strip". It's the C-style "base class" of all strip types.

This also renames the python RNA type `bpy.types.Sequence`
to `bpy.types.Strip` which means that this technically breaks
the python API.

e99252d7fd Refactor: more cleanups and renamed to movie/ffmpeg related files
- All movie related public headers now have MOV_ prefix instead of
  IMB_movie_.
- All movie related public functions now have MOV_ prefix as well,
  instead of IMB_movie_ or IMB_anim_.
- IMB_anim.hh -> MOV_read.hh (also ImBufAnim -> MovieReader), and
  various utility functions not related to playback were split off
  into MOV_util.hh.
- Other function name tweaks for clarity, e.g. IMB_suffix_anim
  -> MOV_set_multiview_suffix and so on.
- All except one usages of MOV_get_fps (nee IMB_anim_get_fps) were
  ultimately just converting returned value into a float. So make
  MOV_get_fps just return that directly. For the (exactly just one)
  place that needs numerator and denominator, have
  MOV_get_fps_num_denom.
- Code comments on the public header functions.
- Removed never-used code paths inside movie timecode proxy building
  file.

It might be easier to review each commit separately.

8ce5356522 VSE: Text editing in preview
This commit implements most features needed for simple text editing.

Active text strip can be edited in preview by pressing tab key, which
enabled text editing mode. With this mode active, outline matches text
boundary box and cursor is drawn.

Cursor can be moved with usual keys. Pressing shift starts selection.
Selection and navigation works when text is scaled or rotated. Mirrored
text is not supported in this PR. it can be done, but the text is
unreadable that way, so I kept it simple.

Multi line text is supported. Pressing return key starts new line.

Copy/paste operator uses OS copy paste buffer, so text from other apps
can be pasted.

Text is still limited to 512 characters. Text string property still
exists in side panel and is limited to single line. Individual
characters can not be styled in different way like in 3D viewport, but
the code is mostly ready for such feature.

974efe7d23 Refactor: move ffmpeg/video related code into one place
Previously, code related to reading/writing movie files via ffmpeg was
scattered around: some under blenkernel, some directly in generic
imbuf headers, some under intern/ffmpeg. Some of the files were named
with not exactly clear names. Some parts not directly related to movies
were including ffmpeg headers directly (rna_scene.cc).

What is in this PR:

Movie and ffmpeg related code is now under imbuf/movie:
- IMB_anim.hh: movie reading, proxy querying, various utility functions.
- IMB_movie_enums.hh: simple enum definitions,
- IMB_movie_write.hh: movie writing functions.
- intern: actual implementation and private headers.
    - ffmpeg_compat.h: various ffmpeg version difference handling
      utilities,
    - ffmpeg_swscale.hh/cc: scaling and format conversion utilities
      for ffmpeg libswscale,
    - ffmpeg_util.hh/cc: misc utilities related to ffmpeg,
    - movie_proxy_indexer.hh/cc: proxies and timecode indexing for movies,
    - movie_read.hh/cc: decoding of movies into images,
    - movie_write.cc: encoding of images into movies.
- tests: basic ffmpeg library unit tests that previously
  lived under intern/ffmpeg.

Interface changes (at C++ level, no Python API changes):
- Mostly just movie related functions that were BKE_ previously, are now IMB_.
- I did one large-ish change though, and that is to remove bMovieHandle
  struct that had pointers to several functions. Now that is
  IMB_movie_write_begin, IMB_movie_write_append, IMB_movie_write_end
  functions using a single opaque struct handle. As a result, usages
  of that in pipeline.cc and render_opengl.cc have changed.

ebe209b8ec Fix #126461: Scene sound does not play
Caused by removing scene sound from "main scene" when other strip using
the same scene is not rendering sequencer strips.

Only remove sound when all strips using particular scene are not
rendering sequencer strips.

2d122a3492 Cleanup: VSE: Remove seq->tmp usage
Tmp field was still used in strip duplication. This was a source of bugs
previously. Now it uses `Map` of new to old strips to fix strip
relations. The field is removed from DNA struct.

ecce5f45ac Cleanup: rename MAXSEQ -> SEQ_MAX_CHANNELS and make it C++ constexpr
When I was learning VSE code, MAXSEQ constant (a preprocessor define!) was
confusing. It makes it sound like it is "max sequences", but it is actually
"max channels". So rename it to SEQ_MAX_CHANNELS and make it C++ constexpr int
instead of preprocessor macro.

30dbb7820d Cleanup: VSE effects never have 3 inputs, remove seq3 handling
"seq3" input for VSE effect strips has been there ever since
"initial revision" commit in 2002, with comment "pointers voor effecten"
even. But it has never been used, so remove all code that pretends
to do something with it.

528471541b VSE: Faster and more consistent thumbnails
Implementing part of design outlined in #126087.

- VSE thumbnail cache has a new implementation, hopefully simpler
  and easier to understand.
    - Instead of cache key being a VSE strip, frame index, plus
      complicated logic for cache items linking etc.,
    - The cache is keyed by media file path (if multiple strips
      use the same input file, they will share cache entries), frame
      index within media file, and any extra data (e.g. steam index
      for multi-steam videos)
- Much reduced cache flickering and strange/weird thumbnail choices.
    - Likewise, thumbnails no longer disappear-and-reload on operations
      like Undo, dragging new video strip into timeline, or F12 render.
- Thumbnails now load faster.
    - Images use dedicated/faster thumbnail loading routines when a
      format can do that (e.g. JPG and EXR can).
    - Movies reuse ffmpeg decoding context for neighboring strips
      that use the same file (as often happens when cutting footage)
    - Thumbnail requests are processed on several threads now too.

715129bf5b VSE: ability to connect and disconnect strips in the VSE.
Adds the ability to connect and disconnect strips in the VSE.

- Connected strips have an icon indicating their status, and attempting
  to select one connected strip selects all other connected strips in
  that chain.
- If the user attempts to connect a strip that is already connected to
  other strips, that strip will disconnect itself from others before
  connecting to new strips.
- Preview selection also works in bulk if multiple video strips are
  connected together in the timeline.
- When adding new strips from the Add menu or the File Browser, strips
  from the same file are connected by default. There's an option to
  turn this off in Editing > Video Sequencer user preferences.
- It is possible to individually tweak strips/handles and ignore
  connections with Alt+Click.
  - This shortcut overrides the old keymap item for "Linked Handle"
    selection. The property still exists if people want to use that
    shortcut for its old purpose.
- To make sure that connections remain valid even after duplication,
  I've added a condition to `seq_new_fix_links_recursive` that also
  updates connections using the `seq->tmp` var. (A note -- I've updated
  the comment for this field in `DNA_sequence_types.h` because the var
  is only used for duplication now. It was once present in
  `select_more_less_seq__internal` to be used for linked selection but
  is gone now).
  - There are also functions to cut one-way links and make sure that
    all strips are bidirectionally connected after duplicating.

406554c11e VSE: Add snapping in preview area
Adds snapping in the VSE preview area.

Source points are the four corners and origins of all selected, visible
image quads. Targets can be preview borders, preview center, or
corners/origins of other strips.

69472c88ee IMB: Cleanup timecode options
Remove options that are duplicate and change description of options, so
they describe bit better, how timecodes are actually used.

Timecodes in Blender have pretty much nothing in common with more widely
known term "timecode". This confused users (and developers).
There were 5 options of which 3 were exactly same. This commit leaves
user with 3 options:
 - Use timecodes for normal seeking/playback - Record Run
 - Ensure, that no frame is duplicated or skipped - "Record Run No Gaps"
 - Do not use timecodes - "None"

More verbose description was added to the definition in code.

Naming of these timecode types was kept, even if it is incorrect to not
break scripts and habits.

221951657b VSE: Make cache overlay visible to non "Developer extras" users
This also moves the option to be a per editor space setting so you can
have different cache visualization options in different editor spaces
at the same time.

A quick toggle for the cache visualization is now available in the
overlays popover.

31e56797f0 VSE: indicate missing media in timeline/display
Sequencer timeline displays red tint & appropriate icons for strips that are
missing media file (images, movies, audio, or meta strips that contain such).

Sequencer preview and rendering displays missing media strips as magenta,
similar to missing textures elsewhere in Blender. This is on by default,
sequencer view settings have an option to turn it off.

There are still a few places remaining that use BLO_read_data_address

cff532e134 VSE: Implement Snapping to Markers
This patch adds the ability to snap strips to markers. Previously, there
only existed options to snap to hold offsets and the current frame.

This snap type works identically to other snapping options by checking
for the relevant bit (here `SEQ_SNAP_TO_MARKERS`) and adding the marker
frame numbers to `snap_data->target_snap_points` within
`seq_snap_target_points_build()`.

To enable `seq_get_snap_target_points_count()` to have access to marker
information, the current Scene object is now passed to the function.

81a63153d0 Despgraph: Rename "copy-on-write" to "copy-on-evaluation"
The depsgraph CoW mechanism is a bit of a misnomer. It creates an
evaluated copy for data-blocks regardless of whether the copy will
actually be written to. The point is to have physical separation between
original and evaluated data. This is in contrast to the commonly used
performance improvement of keeping a user count and copying data
implicitly when it needs to be changed. In Blender code we call this
"implicit sharing" instead. Importantly, the dependency graph has no
idea about the _actual_ CoW behavior in Blender.

Renaming this functionality in the despgraph removes some of the
confusion that comes up when talking about this, and will hopefully
make the depsgraph less confusing to understand initially too. Wording
like "the evaluated copy" (as opposed to the original data-block) has
also become common anyway.

e1f8775807 VSE: default to new "Auto" image filter for strips
Part of "improve filtering situation" (#116980), now strip scaling filter defaults to "Auto" which has logic like:

- No scale, no rotation, integer positions: Nearest (fastest)
- Scaling up by more than 2x: Cubic Mitchell, so you get nicer blending between pixels than with bilinear,
- Scaling down by more than 2x: Box, so that many pixels are averaged properly without too much aliasing,
- Otherwise: Bilinear

Existing strips that use Bilinear (which is default) get switched to Auto when loading older files.

All of this has an advantage that unless you have some special needs for your look, you can leave it at default and it will look decently good at either large up-scaling or large down-scaling, but not waste performance if you don't use any scaling at all. Previously none of the choices were good in "all cases": box (née subsampled3x3) only looks good when scaling down, cubic only looks good when scaling up, default bilinear leaves performance on the table when you don't use any scale/rotation, etc.

On something like Gold movie current edit, most of the strips effectively use Nearest now, except some that are translated into non-integer pixel positions; those stay effectively Bilinear.

8a96f0fb06 Fix #116411: Sound animation not working correctly
This was caused by global variable `sound_cfra` not being updated when
rendering sequencer data. This global variable could cause problems in
other cases though, so it is removed. Functions that are used to set
anomation buffers now accept frame as argument.

311ca3e6af Core: rename Session UUID to Session UID
`UUID` generally stands for "universally unique identifier". The session identifier that
we use is neither universally unique, nor does it follow the standard. Therefor, the term
"session uuid" is confusing and should be replaced.

In #116888 we briefly talked about a better name and ended up with "session uid".
The reason for "uid" instead of "id" is that the latter is a very overloaded term in Blender
already.

This patch changes all uses of "uuid" to "uid" where it's used in the context of a
"session uid". It's not always trivial to see whether a specific mention of "uuid" refers
to an actual uuid or something else. Therefore, I might have missed some renames.
I can't think of an automated way to differentiate the case.

BMesh also uses the term "uuid" sometimes in a the wrong context (e.g. `UUIDFaceStepItem`)
but there it also does not mean "session uid", so it's *not* changed by this patch.

e02eeaf888 Fix #115305: Sound equalizer not applied when rendering
This was caused by 5c76c7bf84, which only updated sound when tagged by
`ID_RECALC_AUDIO`. On undo or rendering, this flag is missing.

Update equalizer when recalc is flagged by `ID_RECALC_COPY_ON_WRITE`.
