b37d121e0a I18n: extract and disambiguate a few messages
Extract
- Add to Quick Favorites tooltip.
- "Mask", the name of a newly created mask (DATA_).
- "New" in the context of the new mask ID button.
- A few strings using BLI_STR_UTF8_ defines were not extracted.
Take the special characters out of the translation macros.
- "External" menu items from the filebrowser's Files context
menu (right-click on a file). These items were already extracted,
  but not translated.

Improve
- Separate formatted error message "%s is not compatible with
["the specified", "any"] 'refresh' options" into two messages.

Disambiguate
- Use Action context for new F-modifiers' names. This is already used
  for the "type" operator prop.
- Translate ImportHelper's default confirmation text using the
Operator context, as it uses the operator name which is extracted
  with this context.
- "Scale" can be a noun, the scale of something, or a verb, to scale
something. The latter mostly uses the Operator context, so apply
this context to verbs, and the default contexts to nouns.
- "Scale Influence" can mean "Influence on Scale" (tracking
stabilization) and "to Scale the Influence" (dynamic paint canvas).
- "Object Line Art" as type of Line Art to add, as opposed to the
  active object's Line Art settings.
- Float to Integer node: use NodeTree context for the node label, as
this is already extracted and used for the enum.

Do not translate
- Sequencer labels containing only a string formatting field.

eee32726c7 Fix #121349: Baking adds keys on custom properties that are non-keyable
When keying custom properties that are defined by an addon,
you can't use square brackets. The GUI buttons already reflect that.
The baking code and the keyframe insertion code didn't respect
that and so were able to key properties that are defined as non-keyable.

## Solutions
I've solved the issue on the C++ side by resolving
the path twice, once without and in case that didn't work the
second time with brackets. While that does solve the issue
this feels really dirty and I feel like I am misusing the system here.
**However it is absolutely needed**.
When resolving a path with brackets to a property defined
by an addon, you get an `IDProperty` disguised as a `PropertyRNA`
which will not have the correct flags set.

By checking if a property `is_animatable` in python, all that do not have that can be skipped.
Also making sure the path is passed without brackets in the correct cases.

The above code closely mirrors what is currently done inside the
existing Blender c++ FileHandlers.

25bdaf026c Fix #117988: Anim, Crash when baking action
When baking custom properties, avoid keeping references to custom
property values that are known to be impossible to animate anyway.

The crash was caused by custom properties containing collections of ID
properties. Keeping Python references around for too long and then
accessing them caused Blender to crash.

My solution is to only keep track of custom property values that might
be keyable. For some this is certain: floats, ints, bools are keyable,
whereas lists, dicts, etc. are not. However, strings can be the RNA
value for an enum property, which is keyed via its integer
representation. So, the new function `can_be_keyed()` can return `True`,
`False`, or `None`. By skipping those values where it returns `False`
the crash is already resolved, making it good enough for now.

606562c12b Extensions: fix re-registered repos failing to include add-on modules
Enabling & disabling a repository removed it's module from sys.modules
but kept any sub-modules (in this case add-ons).

The problem with this is enabling the add-ons again could reuse the
cached modules which failed to include the add-on in the parent
modules name-space.

This meant `dir(bl_ext.repo_module)` couldn't be used to access
sub-modules.

b350d7a4c3 Shape Keys: support locking to protect from accidental editing.
It is very common for graphical editors with layers to support
locking individual layers to protect them from accidental edits due
to misclicks. Blender itself already supports locking vertex groups.
This adds lock toggles for shape keys, with lock/unlock all operators.

The flags are checked by sculpt brushes, edit mode transform tools,
and Smooth, Propagate and Blend From Shape operators. This selection
aims to cover operations that only deform the mesh, where the shape
key selection matters.

Topology changing operations always apply to all keys, and thus
incorrect shape key selection is less impactful. Excluding them
from the new feature greatly reduces the patch size.

fa5bb53f5c Fix: Python node_utils.connect_sockets broken after API change
After the recent introduction of node panels, the utility that
allowed scripters to connect sockets to or from a virtual socket was
broken. This happens when creating an interface before connecting
sockets. Sockets can have a subtype, while interfaces cannot.

For instance, the `NodeSocketFloatFactor` type cannot be used
directly, it has to be converted to `NodeSocketFloat`.

This commit chooses an appropriate type for the new interface before
creating it, based on the socket's `type` property.

dd5b870d15 Anim: Add channel type options to the Bake Action operator
Currently, we're limited to the type of Bake Data, without any control over the channels that get baked.

With this change, the user now has a fine degree of control as to which types of f-curve data will be written to the baked action (i.e., location, rotation, scale & b-bone channels).

9bd89c67d2 Fix node socket connection util after changes to the interface API
The `connect_sockets()` node util function is used to connect sockets
even when inside node groups, when only a "virtual socket" is
available. It takes care of creating the interface in the group, so
that a socket is available in the Input or Output node.

This feature was broken after the change of API, replacing
`tree.inputs` and `tree.outputs` with a unified `tree.interface`.

This commit updates the util to account for this change.

Fixes an exception in the Node Wrangler add-on, when connecting a
socket of a type not yet available in an Input or Output node.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

31cb31d736 PyAPI: add-on name-spacing for extension repositories
Support name-spaced add-ons, exposed via user configurable extension
repositories.

Directories for add-ons can be added at run-time and are name-spaced to
avoid name-collisions with Python modules or add-ons from other
repositories.

This is exposed as an experimental feature "Extension Repositories".

Details:

- A `bUserExtensionRepo` type which represents a repository which is
  listed in the add-ons repository.

- `JunctionModuleHandle` class to manage a package with sub-modules
which can point to arbitrary locations.

- `bpy.app.handlers._extension_repos_update_{pre/post}` internal
callbacks run before/after changes to extension repositories,
callbacks are used to sync the changes to the Python package that
  exposes these to add-ons.

- The size of an add-on name has been increased so a user-defined package
prefix can be included without enforcing shorter add-on names.

- Functionality relating to package management has been left out of this
change and will be developed separately.

Further work:

- While a repository can be renamed, enabled add-ons aren't renamed.
Eventually we might want to support this although we could also
disallow renaming repositories with add-ons enabled as the name isn't
  all that significant.

- Removing a repository should remove all the add-ons located in this
  repository.

- Sub-module names are currently restricted to `[A-Za-z]+[A-Za-z0-9_]*`
we might want to relax this to allow unicode characters (we might
still want to disallow `-` or any characters that would prevent
  attribute access in code).

6452eccc80 #107126: Make FCurve.update() also deduplicate keys
The RNA function `FCurve.update()` now also deduplicates keys. This is done
in a way that is independent of key selection; simply the last key in the
list of keyframes 'wins' and overwrites earlier ones. It is exactly the
same as `FCurve.keyframe_points.deduplicate()`.

85ed2e8c36 Animation: add function for deduplicating FCurve keys
Introduce `BKE_fcurve_deduplicate_keys()` to merge keys that are on the
same time, or within the time comparison threshold (1/100th of a frame).

When merging two consecutive keys, the last one 'wins' and determines
the final key *value*. The first key's *time* is retained, to ensure the
reference point for the next comparisons is stable. The only exception
here is when there is a key exactly on an integer frame number, in which
case that one is preferred.

The function is exposed in RNA as `fcurve.keyframe_points.deduplicate()`

This commit also introduces a new function `BKE_fcurve_bezt_shrink(fcu,
new_totvert);` that can reallocate the `bezt` array to ensure removed
keys no longer take up memory.

The RNA function `fcurve.update()` currently performs two steps, which
are now exposed to RNA as well, as `keyframe_points.sort()` and
`keyframe_points.handles_recalc()`. This is so that Python code can
sort, deduplicate, and then recalculate the handles only once (calling
`update` + `deduplicate` would do the latter twice).

In Blender 4.0 the deduplication will also be part of `fcurve.update()`,
see #107126.

03806d0b67 Re-design of submodules used in blender.git
This commit implements described in the #104573.

The goal is to fix the confusion of the submodule hashes change, which are not
ideal for any of the supported git-module configuration (they are either always
visible causing confusion, or silently staged and committed, also causing
confusion).

This commit replaces submodules with a checkout of addons and addons_contrib,
covered by the .gitignore, and locale and developer tools are moved to the
main repository.

This also changes the paths:
- /release/scripts are moved to the /scripts
- /source/tools are moved to the /tools
- /release/datafiles/locale is moved to /locale

This is done to avoid conflicts when using bisect, and also allow buildbot to
automatically "recover" wgen building older or newer branches/patches.

Running `make update` will initialize the local checkout to the changed
repository configuration.

Another aspect of the change is that the make update will support Github style
of remote organization (origin remote pointing to thy fork, upstream remote
pointing to the upstream blender/blender.git).
