9ab356fe6e Cleanup: Return Vector for View Layer objects and bases retrieval
This simplifies code using these functions because of RAII,
range based for loops, and the lack of output arguments.
Also pass object pointer array as a span in more cases.

df0d7c9c3d WM Jobs: Refactor all worker status variables into a single shared struct.
Move the three current 'status variables' (stop, update and progress)
into a single 'WorkerStatus' struct. This is cleaner and will allow for
future workin this area without having to edit tens of 'startjob'
callbacks signatures all the time.

No functional change expected here.

Note: jobs' specific internal code has been modified as little as
possible, in many cases the job's own data still just store pointers to
these three values. Ideally in the future more refactor will be using a
single pointer to the shared `wmJobWorkerStatus` data instead.

16e4eeb9c0 Text objects: make CharInfo mat_nr zero-based
For text objects, the CharInfo mat_nr material index used to start at 1
(not at zero like for meshes or nurbs).
Code was mostly considering this (but not in all places, so material
index handling (removing/moving) could still go wrong.

As an alternative to !109746 (where it was made sure all places would
make the right assumption about mat_nr starting at 1), this PR now
changes the mat_nr to be zero-based.

This is more in line with other places handling material indices.

Versioning code is in place to properly convert old files.

b5c89822ac RNA: return PointerRNA from rna create functions
There are a couple of functions that create rna pointers. For example
`RNA_main_pointer_create` and `RNA_pointer_create`. Currently, those
take an output parameter `r_ptr` as last argument. This patch changes
it so that the functions actually return a` PointerRNA` instead of using
the output parameters.

This has a few benefits:
* Output parameters should only be used when there is an actual benefit.
Otherwise, one should default to returning the value.
* It's simpler to use the API in the large majority of cases (note that this
patch reduces the number of lines of code).
* It allows the `PointerRNA` to be const on the call-site, if that is desired.

No performance regression has been measured in production files.
If one of these functions happened to be called in a hot loop where
there is a regression, the solution should be to use an inline function
there which allows the compiler to optimize it even better.

564bbdf6e7 I18n: disambiguate and extract a few messages
This commit disambiguates the following messages:

- Sequencer effect strip types: use "Sequence" context in relevant
places, as that is already extracted as part of the
  `sequencer_prop_effect_types` enum, and more specific.
- "Language" (a natural or programming language)
- "Flat" (gender)
- "Smooth" (action or amount -- very partial disambiguation for now
because this is all over the place)

It also extracts these messages:

- Newly created Freestyle data
  - LineStyle
  - LineSet
  - Modifiers
- "Registering panel class:" error message from RNA registration
- "Node must be run as tool" error message from tool geometry nodes

fa34992def Cleanup: Remove unnecessary includes from C++ data structure headers
The hash tables and vector blenlib headers were pulling many more
headers than they actually need, including the C base math header,
our C string API header, and the StringRef header. All of this
potentially slows down compilation and polutes autocomplete
with unrelated information.

Also remove the `ListBase` constructor for `Vector`. It wasn't used
much, and making it easy to use `ListBase` isn't worth it for the
same reasons mentioned above.

It turns out a lot of files depended on indirect includes of
`BLI_string.h` and `BLI_listbase.h`, so those are fixed here.

e955c94ed3 License Headers: Set copyright to "Blender Authors", add AUTHORS
Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.

While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.

Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:

- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.

An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

This makes it possible to use BLI_string in Blender's internal utilities

64ead920a1 Fix #108495: Pasting a material crashes
References to data-blocks in a material were stored in-memory and could
crash if the data-blocks referenced by the material no longer existed
when pasting.

Resolve by using a blend-file for material copy/paste, matching how the
clipboard works in the 3D view-port.

Currently there is no support for including indirectly linked
data-blocks when pasting the material. Instead, data-blocks are restored
by name, by inspecting the current file.

This also fixes a crash where the `SpaceNode::nodetree` could point to
freed memory when pasting a material.

c1bc70b711 Cleanup: Add a copyright notice to files and use SPDX format
A lot of files were missing copyright field in the header and
the Blender Foundation contributed to them in a sense of bug
fixing and general maintenance.

This change makes it explicit that those files are at least
partially copyrighted by the Blender Foundation.

Note that this does not make it so the Blender Foundation is
the only holder of the copyright in those files, and developers
who do not have a signed contract with the foundation still
hold the copyright as well.

Another aspect of this change is using SPDX format for the
header. We already used it for the license specification,
and now we state it for the copyright as well, following the
FAQ:

a8feb20e1c DNA: Move irradiance grid light cache data to Object level
This is the first step for refactoring the lightcache system.
Each probe instance (as in `Object`) will now store its own baked data.
The data is currently stored in uncompressed readable format.

This introduces two new operators for baking to avoid confusion with
the previous light baking pipeline. These do nothing other than
creating empty caches that will be populated by EEVEE later on.

The DNA storage is made to be able to include multiple caches
in case of baked simulation over time but it isn't yet supported.

I prefer to keep the implementation simple for now as the long term
goals for this feature are uncertain.
There is still a type flag (`LightProbeObjectCache.cache_type`) that
will be used for versioning.

The naming convention of structs is a bit weird but that's all I
found in order to avoid interfering with the old scene light cache
that is still used by (old) EEVEE.

84e216fcee UI: replace "copy/paste buffer" by "internal clipboard"
A buffer is a technical term most often referred to using the metaphor
of a "clipboard" in applications. However, the "clipboard" is usually
the system clipboard, used to carry data accross applications. To
avoid confusion, this replaces "clipboard" by "internal clipboard"
when not dealing with the system clipboard.

In addition, a few places still used the "[copy/paste] buffer"
terminology, so they are replaced with "internal clipboard as well.

The replacement from "[copy/paste] buffer" to "clipboard" was
undertaken in previous commits da6d6f99a8, 14b60c3a1c. This
commit should tackle the remaining occurrences.

a12a8a71bb Remove "All Rights Reserved" from Blender Foundation copyright code
The goal is to solve confusion of the "All rights reserved" for licensing
code under an open-source license.

The phrase "All rights reserved" comes from a historical convention that
required this phrase for the copyright protection to apply. This convention
is no longer relevant.

However, even though the phrase has no meaning in establishing the copyright
it has not lost meaning in terms of licensing.

This change makes it so code under the Blender Foundation copyright does
not use "all rights reserved". This is also how the GPL license itself
states how to apply it to the source code:

<one line to give the program's name and a brief idea of what it does.>
    Copyright (C) <year> <name of author>

This program is free software ...

This change does not change copyright notice in cases when the copyright
is dual (BF and an author), or just an author of the code. It also does
mot change copyright which is inherited from NaN Holding BV as it needs
some further investigation about what is the proper way to handle it.
