The basic idea is very simple. Whenever a supported menu is open, one can just
start typing and this opens a search that contains all the (nested) menu entries.
The main downside is that this collides with accelerator keys. Those are the
underlined characters in each menu. For now, we just enable this new searching
behavior in a few selected menus: Node Add Menu, View3D Add Menu and
Modifier Add Menu.
This new functionality can be enabled for a menu by setting
`bl_options = {'SEARCH_ON_KEY_PRESS'}` to true in the menu type.
The status bar shows `Type to search...` when a menu is opened that supports search.

There are a couple of functions that create rna pointers. For example
`RNA_main_pointer_create` and `RNA_pointer_create`. Currently, those
take an output parameter `r_ptr` as last argument. This patch changes
it so that the functions actually return a` PointerRNA` instead of using
the output parameters.
This has a few benefits:
* Output parameters should only be used when there is an actual benefit.
Otherwise, one should default to returning the value.
* It's simpler to use the API in the large majority of cases (note that this
patch reduces the number of lines of code).
* It allows the `PointerRNA` to be const on the call-site, if that is desired.
No performance regression has been measured in production files.
If one of these functions happened to be called in a hot loop where
there is a regression, the solution should be to use an inline function
there which allows the compiler to optimize it even better.

When estimating widget sizes, ui_text_icon_width_ex() assumes that all
items are using the "widget" text style, which is incorrect for labels.
This PR uses widget_label style for uiItemL_ and the label portion of

Previously, BKE level preview image code was in `BKE_icons.h` and `icons.hh`.
While these types are related, I always found this quite hard to navigate since
preview image stuff was just in the middle of icon functions. Plus, people
don't expect preview image functions in icon files, the relationship is not
obvious.
Instead, use focused files that make it easy to quickly navigate them
and see what they are dealing with.

The node add menu contains assets. The position of an asset in the menu
is determined by the catalog it's in. Submenus are generated automatically.
This works by having a context dependent menu (`NODE_MT_node_add_catalog_assets`).
The current catalog path is passed in as context. If the menu has submenus,
the sub-catalog paths are passed as context into those.
This generally works fine when using the menu. However, menu-search (F3)
does not support context dependent menus yet, so those menu entries are
just skipped. With this patch, the previously skipped context dependent menu
entries are also taken into account.
Note, when opening the search directly after opening Blender, the assets might
still be loading and therefor don't show up in the search.

Previously, a separate map was build that maps menu types
to their drawing info. This worked fine, but is incompatible
with context dependent menus (#111752).
Now, the menu parent tree is build eagerly which avoids the
need for the additional map. This also makes it easier to integrate
menus that use `menu_create_func`.
Generally the context store is owned by `uiBlock`. Other pointers
to the store (in `bContext` and other operator data) shouldn't change
it, so those variables are now const. One exception is the pointer in
`uiLayout`, but that has a clearly short lifetime, so that's okay.
Remove the need for `CTX_store_copy` and `CTX_store_free` by using
C++ copy constructors, unique pointers, and `std::optional`. A few types
are made non-trivial to support this.
Regression from c3dfe1e204.
Above commit put a dummy dragable button over the filename (well, to
allow dragging). Enabling drag ripples down to the button ending up in
the `BUTTON_STATE_HIGHLIGHT` state [which is still good of course].
However, `ui_do_but_EXIT` will then return `WM_UI_HANDLER_BREAK` which
then results in the filebrowser operator being skipped.
`ui_do_but_EXIT` already had a special case for file-browser drag button
[which would return `WM_UI_HANDLER_CONTINUE` instead]. Formerly this was
just the icon, now it is the icon and filename label. So in order to fix
this, remove the explicit check for the `but->imb` which will then
include the dragable label button in the exception for returning
`WM_UI_HANDLER_CONTINUE`.

Switch to new node group interfaces and deprecate old DNA and API.
This completes support for panels in node drawing and in node group
interface declarations in particular.
The new node group interface DNA and RNA code has been added in parts
1 and 2 (#110885, #110952) but has not be enabled yet. This commit
completes the integration by
* enabling the new RNA API
* using the new API in UI
* read/write new interfaces from blend files
* add versioning for backward compatibility
* add forward-compatible writing code to reconstruct old interfaces
All places accessing node group interface declarations should now be
using the new API. A runtime cache has been added that allows simple
linear access to socket inputs and outputs even when a panel hierarchy
is used.
Old DNA has been deprecated and should only be accessed for versioning
(inputs/outputs renamed to inputs_legacy/outputs_legacy to catch
errors). Versioning code ensures both backward and forward
compatibility of existing files.
The API for old interfaces is removed. The new API is very similar but
is defined on the `ntree.interface` instead of the `ntree` directly.
Breaking change notifications and detailed instructions for migrating
will be added.
A python test has been added for the node group API functions. This
includes new functionality such as creating panels and moving items
between different levels.
This patch does not yet contain panel representations in the modifier
UI. This has been tested in a separate branch and will be added with a
later PR (#108565).

Armature layers (the 32 little dots) and bone groups are replaced with
Bone Collections:
- Bone collections are stored on the armature, and have a name that is
unique within that armature.
- An armature can have an arbitrary number of bone collections (instead
of the fixed 32 layers).
- Bones can be assigned to zero or more bone collections.
- Bone collections have a visibility setting, just like objects in scene
collections.
- When a bone is in at least one collection, and all its collections in
are hidden, the bone is hidden. In other cases (in any visible
collection, or in no collection at all), the bone visibility is
determined by its own 'hidden' flag.
- For now, bone collections cannot be nested; they are a flat list just
like bone groups were. Nestability of bone collections is intended to
be implemented in a later 4.x release.
- Since bone collections are defined on the armature, they can be used
from both pose mode and edit mode.
Versioning converts bone groups and armature layers to new bone
collections. Layers that do not contain any bones are skipped. The old
data structures remain in DNA and are unaltered, for limited forward
compatibility. That way at least a save with Blender 4.0 will not
immediately erase the bone group and armature layers and their bone
assignments.
Shortcuts:
- M/Shift+M in pose/edit mode: move to collection (M) and add to
collection (shift+M). This works similar to the M/Shift+M menus for
objects & scene collections.
- Ctrl+G in pose mode shows a port of the old 'bone groups' menu. This
is likely to be removed in the near future, as the functionality
overlaps with the M/Shift+M menus.
This is the first commit of a series; the bone collections feature will
be improved before the Blender 4.0 release. See #108941 for more info.

Move control over the color of bones from bone groups to the bones
themselves. Instead of using bone groups (which are defined on the pose,
and thus owned by the object), the color is stored on:
- the bone (`struct Bone`, or RNA `armature.bones['bone_name'].color`)
- a possible override on the pose bone (`struct bPoseChannel`, or RNA
`ob.pose.bones['bone_name'].color`).
When the pose bone is set to its default color, the color is determined
by the armature bone. In armature edit mode, the armature bone colors
are always used, as then the pose data is unavailable.
Versioning code converts bone group colors to bone colors. If the
Armature has a single user, the group color is stored on the bones
directly. If it has multiple users, the group colors will be stored on
the pose bones instead.
The bone group color is not removed from DNA for forward compatibility,
that is, to avoid immediate dataloss when saving a 3.6 file with 4.0.
This is part of the replacement of bone groups & armature layers with
bone collections. See the design task at #108941.

`uiBut` cannot simply be zero-allocated any more and needs proper construction
(so the `std::function` members can be constructed properly for example). I'm
not entirely sure where and how exactly the crash happens (happens in release
builds only, so probably optimization related), but this change must be done
either way and fixes the issue.
Since menus are created flipped (from event handling point of view), the
root layout block needs to be flagged `UI_BLOCK_IS_FLIP`.
This was missing for a couple of `uiMenuCreateFunc`, namely:
- creating worspaces menu
- modifiers extra ops
- constraints extra ops
- GP modifiers extra ops
- GP Shader FX extra ops

Recent refactors could cause movement of selection endpoints when
extending (holding shift). This ensures that only the cursor side moves
during selection extension.

Allow dragging items from Outliner to other windows. Disables EdgePan
operator when entering new window. Canceling the drop redraws target
area and resets all modal cursors. But this does not fix incorrect
mouse cursor during operations on the remote target window.

Some functionality of `Layer`s and `LayerGroup`s can be shared. This is why the `TreeNode` class exists. It encapsulates all the common methods both `Layer`s and `LayerGroup`s should have.
Up until now, the usage of `TreeNode` was not consistent and often the layers would just access the base c-struct directly.
This refactor makes it so that all of the functions affecting only the `TreeNode` are moved to the `TreeNode` class and only implemented there.
For example, renaming a layer is really just renaming the node. Therefor there shouldn't even be a `rename_layer` and `rename_layer_group` function. These were combined into a `rename_node` function.

Including <iostream> or similar headers is quite expensive, since it
also pulls in things like <locale> and so on. In many BLI headers,
iostreams are only used to implement some sort of "debug print",
or an operator<< for ostream.
Change some of the commonly used places to instead include <iosfwd>,
which is the standard way of forward-declaring iostreams related
classes, and move the actual debug-print / operator<< implementations
into .cc files.
This is not done for templated classes though (it would be possible
to provide explicit operator<< instantiations somewhere in the
source file, but that would lead to hard-to-figure-out linker error
whenever someone would add a different template type). There, where
possible, I changed from full <iostream> include to only the needed
<ostream> part.
For Span<T>, I just removed print_as_lines since it's not used by
anything. It could be moved into a .cc file using a similar approach
as above if needed.
Doing full blender build changes include counts this way:
- <iostream> 1986 -> 978
- <sstream> 2880 -> 925
It does not affect the total build time much though, mostly because
towards the end of it there's just several CPU cores finishing
compiling OpenVDB related source files.

This adds a new Ghost function, GHOST_GetPixelAtCursor, that allows
picking colors from outside of Blender windows. This only has an
implementation for the Windows platform, but this should allow other
platforms to also do so if possible.

Listing the "Blender Foundation" as copyright holder implied the Blender
Foundation holds copyright to files which may include work from many
developers.
While keeping copyright on headers makes sense for isolated libraries,
Blender's own code may be refactored or moved between files in a way
that makes the per file copyright holders less meaningful.
Copyright references to the "Blender Foundation" have been replaced with
"Blender Authors", with the exception of `./extern/` since these this
contains libraries which are more isolated, any changed to license
headers there can be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Some directories in `./intern/` have also been excluded:
- `./intern/cycles/` it's own `AUTHORS` file is planned.
- `./intern/opensubdiv/`.
An "AUTHORS" file has been added, using the chromium projects authors
file as a template.

Some code attempted to use `BIFIconID` instead of `int` to pass around
icon-ids. Problem is, that this is just a subset of the allowed ids,
more icons may be created at runtime and extend the range of valid
icon-ids. Such icons could give runtime warning prints.
Idea is to use a `using BIFIconID = int;` instead. This way there is
still a descriptive type name, while the whole dynamic range of possible
icon-ids is supported.
Additionally multiple `using BIFIconID = int;` declarations are valid,
so we can place these in multiple headers and use the type name in APIs
instead of just `int`, whithout having to include a single header
defining them. A type mismatch (one instance differs from the others)
will result in a compiler error.
