e813e46327 Cycles: Refactor lights to be objects
This is an intermediate steps towards making lights actual geometry.
Light is now a subclass of Geometry, which simplifies some code.

The geometry is not added to the BVH yet, which would be the next
step and improve light intersection performance with many lights.

This makes object attributes work on lights.

58b7543ede Fix #132322: Artifacts in Cycles volume rendering with Light tree on some devices
In a previous commit (1), adjustments to light tree traversal were made
to try and skip distant lights when deciding which light to sample
while within a world volume.

The skip wasn't implemented properly, and as a result distant lights
were still included in the light tree traversal in that sitaution.
And due to the way the skip was implemented, there were some
unintialized variables used in the processing of the distant lights
importance which caused artifacts on some platforms.

This commit fixes this issue by reverting the skip of distant lights
in that situation.

dd51c8660b Refactor: Cycles: Add const keyword where possible, using clang-tidy
Check was misc-const-correctness, combined with readability-isolate-declaration
as suggested by the docs.

Temporarily clang-format "QualifierAlignment: Left" was used to get consistency
with the prevailing order of keywords.

6fbc958e89 Fix: Cycles Light Tree gives low weight to distant lights in large volume
The original paper only considers the minimal distance of the cluster to
the ray, not the interval length, resulting in low weight for distant
lights that have large influence over a long distance.
This commit modifies the measure by considering `theta_b - theta_a` for
local lights and the ray length `t` for distant lights.

1284e98ab8 Cycles: use low-distortion mapping when sampling cone and hemisphere
based on concentric disk mapping.
Concentric disk mapping was already present, but not used everywhere.
Now `sample_cos_hemisphere()`, `sample_uniform_hemisphere()`, and
`sample_uniform_cone()` use concentric disk mapping.
This changes the noise in many test images.

213204c229 Cycles: Change sun lamp to have uniform intensity at high angles
This fixes the issue described in https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/108957.

Instead of modeling distant lights like a disk light at infinity, it models them as cones. This way, the radiance is constant across the entire range of directions that it covers.

For smaller angles, the difference is very subtle, but for very large angles it becomes obvious (here's the file from #108957, the angle is 179°):

One notable detail is the sampling method: Using `sample_uniform_cone` can increase noise, since the sampling method no longer preserves the stratification of the samples. This is visible in the "light tree multi distant" test scene.
Turns out we can do better, and after a bit of testing I found a way to adapt the concentric Shirley mapping to uniform cone sampling. I hope the comment explains the logic behind it reasonably well.

Here's the result, note that even the noise distribution is the same when using the new sampling:

I'm not sure if I got the `light->normalized` handling right, since I don't really know what the expectation from Hydra is here.

ee89f213de Cycles: improve many lights sampling using light tree
Uses a light tree to more effectively sample scenes with many lights. This can
significantly reduce noise, at the cost of a somewhat longer render time per
sample.

Light tree sampling is enabled by default. It can be disabled in the Sampling >
Lights panel. Scenes using light clamping or ray visibility tricks may render
different as these are biased techniques that depend on the sampling strategy.

The implementation is currently disabled on AMD HIP. This is planned to be fixed
before the release.

Implementation by Jeffrey Liu, Weizhen Huang, Alaska and Brecht Van Lommel.

ac51d331df Refactor: Cycles light sampling code reorganization
* Split light types into own files, move light type specific code from
  light tree and MNEE.
* Move flat light distribution code into own kernel file and host side
building function, in preparation of light tree addition. Add light/sample.h
as main entry point to kernel light sampling.
* Better separate calculation of pdf for selecting a light, and pdf for
sampling a point on the light. The selection pdf is now also stored in
LightSampling for MNEE to correctly recalculate the full pdf when the
shading position changes but the point on the light remains fixed.
* Improvement to kernel light storage, using packed_float3, better variable
  names, etc.

Includes contributions by Brecht Van Lommel and Weizhen Huang.
