ec559912fb Fix T61470: inconsistent HSV node results with saturation > 1.0.
Values outside the 0..1 range produce negative colors, so now clamp to that
range everywhere. Also fixes improper handling of hue > 2.0 in some places.

8c68ed6df1 Cleanup: remove redundant, invalid info from headers
BF-admins agree to remove header information that isn't useful,
to reduce noise.

  Developers should add non license comments as separate comment blocks.
  No need for separator text.

- Contributors

  This is often invalid, outdated or misleading
  especially when splitting files.

  It's more useful to git-blame to find out who has developed the code.

c9eef24903 Fix T56799: Custom render passes missing when using Save Buffers
The problem here was that when a render result is allocated, the standard render passes are added according to the
pass bitfield. Then, when the render engine sets the result, it adds the additional passes which are then merged
into the main render result.

However, when using Save Buffers, the EXR is created before the actual render starts, so it's missing all those
additional passes.

To fix that, we need to query the render engine for a list of additional passes so they can be added before the EXR
is created. Luckily, there already is a function to do that for the node editor.

The same needs to be done when the EXR is loaded back.

Due to how that is implemented though (Render API calls into engine, engine calls back for each pass), if we have
multiple places that call this function there needs to be a way to tell which one the call came from in the pass
registration callback. Therefore, the original caller now provides a callback that is called for each pass.

24330f679e Fix T56875: Auto Render not working after render pass name refactor
The default compositor node update function sets the need_exec flag on the node
which the Auto Render feature checks, but the custom update function that was
added as part of rB4cf7fc3b3a4d didn't do so.

Therefore, the two custom update functions that were added now also call the
default update function.

5078b9d2d0 Cycles: add Principled Hair BSDF.
This is a physically-based, easy-to-use shader for rendering hair and fur,
with controls for melanin, roughness and randomization.

Based on the paper "A Practical and Controllable Hair and Fur Model for
Production Path Tracing".

Implemented by Leonardo E. Segovia and Lukas Stockner, part of Google
Summer of Code 2018.

bdda0964e0 Compositor: Cryptomatte compositing node.
This patch adds a new matte node that implements the Cryptomatte specification.
It also incluces a custom eye dropper that works outside of a color picker.
Cryptomatte export for the Cycles render engine will be in a separate patch.

83a4e1aaf9 Cycles: add voronoi features and distance settings from Blender.
Features to get the 2nd, 3rd, 4th closest point instead of the closest, and
various distance metrics. No viewport/Eevee support yet.

30bffb5a3a Nodes: add sqrt, ceil, floor and fract to math nodes.
This works for Cycles, Eevee, texture nodes and compositing. It helps to
reduce the number of math nodes required in various node setups.

799779d432 Cycles: change Ambient Occlusion shader to output colors.
This means the shader can now be used for procedural texturing. New
settings on the node are Samples, Inside, Local Only and Distance.

48155c210a Cycles: Add Support for IES files as textures for light strength
This patch adds support for IES files, a file format that is commonly used to store the directional intensity distribution of light sources.
The new IES node is supposed to be plugged into the Strength input of the Emission node of the lamp.

Since people generating IES files do not really seem to care about the standard, the parser is flexible enough to accept all test files I have tried.
Some common weirdnesses are distributing values over multiple lines that should go into one line, using commas instead of spaces as delimiters and adding various useless stuff at the end of the file.

The user interface of the node is similar to the script node, the user can either select an internal Text or load a file.
Internally, IES files are handled similar to Image textures: They are stored in slots by the LightManager and each unique IES is assigned to one slot.

The local coordinate system of the lamp is used, so that the direction of the light can be changed. For UI reasons, it's usually best to add an area light,
rotate it and then change its type, since especially the point light does not immediately show its local coordinate system in the viewport.

6862762685 Cycles/Compositor: Add arctan2 operation to the Math node
The Math node currently has the normal atan() function, but for
actual angles this is fairly useless without additional nodes to handle the signs.

Since the node has two inputs anyways, it only makes sense to add an arctan2 option.

5a3c146652 fix T54549: Vector Transform node in wrong nodeclass
the Vector Transform node was added to the "Vector" category in
nodeitems_builtins.py
but was using the "NODE_CLASS_CONVERTOR" internally (thus using e.g. the
'wrong' theme color)

8ecf35d850 Fix T54240: automatic node link moving should take into account type.
Without this a "Clearcoat" link could be moved to "Clearcoat Normal"
for example, which doesn't make much sense.

03d1070378 Cycles: change principled BSDF default distribution and SSS.
* Use a subsurface color equal to the base color, and give the subsurface
  radius skin like values by default. This is how the parameter should
  typically be used.
* Use GGX by default, multiscatter GGX is still quite noisy and has some
  fireflies so let's keep it optional for now.

0aec2dcd3a Cycles: add Principled Volume shader.
Similar to the Principled BSDF, this should make it easier to set up volume
materials. Smoke and fire can be rendererd with just a single principled
volume node, the appropriate attributes will be used when available. The node
also works for simpler homogeneous volumes like water or mist.

b5fe00d1ac Cycles: restore Particle Info Index for now, keep it next to Random.
It seems to be useful still in cases where the particle are distributed in
a particular order or pattern, to colorize them along with that. This isn't
really well defined, but might as well avoid breaking backwards compatibility
for now.

f6107af4cf Cycles: change Index output of Hair and Particle Info to Random, in 0..1 range.
These are used for randomization, so it's convenient if the index is already
hashed and consistent with the Object Info node.

37f65e9dc4 Cycles: Implement index output for hair node
This is like the only way to add variety to hair which is created
using simple children. Used here for the hair.

Maybe not ideal, but the time will show.

f9ea097a87 Cycles: add Vector Displacement node and extend Displacement node.
This adds midlevel and object/world space for displacement, and a
vector displacement node with tangent/object/world space, midlevel
and scale.

Note that tangent space vector displacement still is not exactly
compatible with maps created by other software, this will require
changes to the tangent computation.

b129ea843a Cycles: change material output displacement to vector.
Previously only scalar displacement along the normal was supported,
now displacement can go in any direction. For backwards compatibility,
a Displacement node will be automatically inserted in existing files.

This will make it possible to support vector displacement maps in the
future. It's already possible to use them to some extent, but requires
a manual shader node setup. For tangent space maps the right tangent
may also not be available yet, depends on the map.

e53447c137 Fix old files with changed node socket type not loading correctly.
This would lead to sock.default_value pointing to the wrong data type,
possibly causing crashes. Unfortunately, this bug will still exist for
older Blender versions that try to load newer files, which makes
changing the type of a node socket problematic.
