The operator redo seems to behave the same before and after this change. Conceptually there should always be data in the current undo node since the operator pushes undo nodes when it starts. That shouldn't be any different between redo and normal execution. If this turns out to be necessary, it can be added back and the code can be improved to show why it's actually necessary.
