e0f5ce46b7 Fix #134599: Grease Pencil: Connect edges when converting from mesh
The Mesh to Grease Pencil conversion would convert every edge into a stroke.
This was not the case prior to Blender 4.3. Edges with no branches would be
converted into a single stroke instead of mutliple ones.

This fix uses `geometry::mesh_to_curve_convert` from geometry nodes to
achieve more optimal result with edges connected into one stroke when
possible.

f3161149db Fix #135370: Crash when baking textures with a modified UV map
The report was storing a non-2D-Vector attribute with geometry nodes
over a valid UVMap, resulting in the evaluated mesh not having a valid
`CD_PROP_FLOAT2` layer anymore. There is already a check to early out
for the original mesh in case it has no UVs, but as mentioned, not for
the **evaluated** (cage/multi-no-res) mesh which is actually/rightfully
used to get the UVs.

To resolve, check again if we have UVs right after getting he mesh that
is actually used.
(we might even want to remove the first check, seems redundant now -
even though it would early out a bit sooner...)

7ac3de70fd Fix #135159: Copied modifier doesn't keep the name of the modifier
`BKE_modifier_copy_ex` did it (which is called e.g. when copying the

ddced37ea4 Fix #134984: Grease Pencil: Applying a modifier clears keyframe of hidden layer
This was happening because in `apply_eval_grease_pencil_data`
we gather all the potential original layers to clear. This was done
by taking the set of all original layers and then removing layers
from the set that map to an evaluated layer.
The remaining layers are unmapped and should be cleared.

The problem is that invisible layers are no longer part of evaluated
data so there wouldn't be a mapping that could be found.

To fix this, we don't initialize the set of `orig_layers_to_clear` to
all the layers, but instead to only the layers that are visible.
This will ensure that we don't clear keyframes of hidden layers.

5100a80f7f Fix #110650: Drivers not removed if removing their container
This applies to modifiers, constraints and shape keys.
Any driver on such data was not removed with it,
leaving invalid drivers on objects.

With this patch, the drivers are removed, but animation is left untouched.
This is because animation might be reused somewhere else and we don't
want to introduce potential side effects there.

This also adds unit tests for the fixed cases

9e0c8a41cd Object Mode: conversion no longer depends on the active object
Conversion was only possible if the active object was editable &
selected, this complicated overriding the operator from Python
since it wasn't enough to override the selection & active-object.

Now it's possible to use bpy.ops.object.convert() from Python
overriding the selected_editable_objects only.

For users the difference isn't so significant:

- Having an active object is no longer required.

- It's possible there are no objects to operate on,
  as previously the active object was used to check at least one
  object could be converted, although this check wasn't fool-proof
  as it didn't check the objects data-type.

2393d498cb Anim: add RNA function Action.fcurve_ensure_for_datablock(...)
Expose the convenience function `blender::animrig::action_fcurve_ensure()`
to RNA as `Action.fcurve_ensure_for_datablock(...)`.

The function requires that the Action is already assigned to the
data-block. It then takes care of slot assignment / creation, as well as
the creation of a layer and a keyframe strip.

This function call:

```python
fcurve = action.fcurve_ensure_for_datablock(ob_cube, "location", index=2)
```

effectively performs this logic:

```python
# Ensure the slot exists and is assigned:
slot = ob_cube.animation_data.slot
if not slot:
    slot = find_slot_for_keying(action)
if not slot:
    slot = action.slots.new(ob_cube.name)
ob_cube.animation_data.slot = slot
# Ensure a layer exists:
if action.layers:
    layer = action.layers[0]
else:
    layer = action.layers.new("Layer")
# Ensure a keyframe strip exists:
if layer.strips:
    strip = layer.strips[0]
else:
    strip = layer.strips.new('KEYFRAME')
# Ensure the channelbag exists:
channelbag = strip.channelbag(slot, ensure=True)
# Ensure the F-Curve exists:
fcurve = channelbag.fcurves.find("location", index=1)
if not fcurve:
    fcurve = channelbag.fcurves.new("location", index=1)
```

Here `find_slot_for_keying()` represents the logic that's also used when
creating keys via the user interface or the `bpy_struct.keyframe_insert()`
function.

8c01a59411 Fix: Grease Pencil: Use ensure_selection_attribute in vgroup_select_verts
This was implemented in the kernel but it shouldn't have been.
Since the function operates at the editor level and doesn't

a44b12dd6b Fix #134031: Set Parent menu lists unsupported armature options

| OB_SPEAKER | no | no | no | no |
| OB_LIGHTPROBE | no | no | no | no |
| OB_LAMP | no | no | no | no |
| OB_ARMATURE | no | no | no | no |

This PR does two things:
- tidy up the popup menu we get for parenting (removing non-funtional
options)
- enable "With Empty Groups" for lattices (no reason why this should not
work)

What this PR does not touch:
- the poll function for parenting (since this acts on selected objects,
checking all of them can be a costly operation which should not be part
of a poll function)

9e8b3e035a Fix #133633: crash because of edited Smooth by Angle node group
This adds a shallow check to see if the node group has been changed. If it has
been changed, the weak library reference is removed so that the node group will
be loaded from the source file again. This should become unnecessary once we
have asset embedding.

There are probably still ways to make Blender behave unexpectedly when editing
the Smooth by Angle node group, but this should already cover common edits. More
precise checks could be added as necessary.

e4f34453e3 Refactor: pass Vector instead of ListBase to motion path functions
This changes the `ListBase` argument for certain motion path functions
to `Vector<MPathTarget *>`. (and `Span`)

To better describe what the function is doing,

Since `BLI_freelistN` can no longer be used, I added
`animviz_free_motionpath_targets`.

Note that the Vector is of `MPathTarget *` which
are allocated the C way. Because the `MPathTarget` struct is defined
in the .cc file, that's the only way for it to work atm.
Other refactors may mitigate that in the future, but I wanted to keep
the scope small.

619d9e4e01 Fix #98559: support applying Geometry Nodes through multires modifier
Before, it was only possible to apply modifiers through a multires modifier if
they were deform-only. The Geometry Nodes modifier is of course not deform-only.
However, often one can build a node setup, that only deforms and does nothing
else.

To make it possible to apply the Geometry Nodes modifier in such cases the
following things had to be done:
* Update `BKE_modifier_deform_verts` to work with modifiers that implement
  `modify_geometry_set` instead of `deform_verts`.
* Add error handling for the case when `modify_geometry_set` does more than just
  deformation.
* Allow the Geometry Nodes modifier to be applied through a multi-res modifier.

Two new utility types (`ArrayState` and `MeshTopologyState`) have been
introduced to allow for efficient and accurate checking whether the topology has
been modified. In common cases, they can detect that the topology has not been
changed in constant time, but they fall back to linear time checking if it's not
immediately obvious that the topology has not been changed.

This works with the example files from #98559 and #97603.

When converting mesh to grease pencil, different face materials should

- If original mesh does not have any material slots, a white material

- If original mesh has multiple material slots of the same material,

971c96a92c Nodes: rename integer type of nodes to type_legacy
The new description for `bNode.type_legacy`:
```
  /**
   * Legacy integer type for nodes. It does not uniquely identify a node type, only the `idname`
   * does that. For example, all custom nodes use #NODE_CUSTOM but do have different idnames.
   * This is mainly kept for compatibility reasons.
   *
   * Currently, this type is also used in many parts of Blender, but that should slowly be phased
   * out by either relying on idnames, accessor methods like `node.is_reroute()`.
   *
   * A main benefit of this integer type over using idnames currently is that integer comparison is
   * much cheaper than string comparison, especially if many idnames have the same prefix (e.g.
   * "GeometryNode"). Eventually, we could introduce cheap-to-compare runtime identifier for node
   * types. That could mean e.g. using `ustring` for idnames (where string comparison is just
   * pointer comparison), or using a run-time generated integer that is automatically assigned when
   * node types are registered.
db7ff834c9 Refactor: Nodes: remove context argument from propagation function
The part that used the context does not seem to be necessary anymore. If the
If it turns out that we are now missing some notifier, then we have to change
This change helps to generalize the concept of propagating changes in original
