6d70e9b05f UI: fix and improve a few messages
- "Frame Step" -> "Number of frames to skip forward while baking each
  frame": expand description which was just copying the prop name.
- "b-bone" -> "B-Bone": title case.
- "Volumes Lighting" -> "Volume Lighting": typo.
- "Volumes Shadows" -> "Volume Shadows": typo.
- "Insert Blank Keyframe (All Layer)" -> "(All Layers)": typo.
- "the an" -> "an", typo.
- "Inverse" -> "Invert": use verb instead of noun for an action.
- "Desination" -> "Destination": typo.
- "Hides all other F-Curves other than the ones being framed": remove
  extra "other".
- "Remove Bone from Bone collections" -> "Collection", singular because
  the operator is only applied to the active collection. Also title
  case on "Collection".
- "Change Stroke material with selected material" -> "Assign the
  active material slot to the selected strokes": rephrase by reusing
  the message from the non-Grease Pencil materials.
- "VisAction", "VisArea" -> "Visibility Action", "Visibility Area":
  expand abbreviation. This is not exposed in the UI right now but
  will show up in the API docs.
- "Stop Mode Right / Global Down" -> "Stop Move" (typo).
- "... for node input  %s": remove extra space.
- "Move along their normal" -> "Move shadows along their normal":
  rephrase unclear sentence.
- "Stat Vis" -> "Mesh Analysis": stands for "Statistical
  visualization"? Unclear and not shown anywhere. Reuse the label
  specified in the UI code instead.
- " Output data...": remove leading space.
- "Attribute domain for the selection and group id inputs": title case
  on "Selection" and "Group ID" as that is how they appear in the UI.
- "Ior" -> "IOR": uppercase acronym, for consistency.

8d5aa6eed4 Geometry Nodes: Index switch node
Add an "Index Switch" node which is meant as a simpler version of
the "Menu Switch" from #113445 that doesn't allow naming items
or displaying them in a dropdown, but still allows choosing between
an arbitrary number of items, unlike the regular "Switch" node.
Even when the Menu Switch is included (which should be in the
same release as this), it may still be helpful to have explicit mapping
of indices, and a fair amount of the internals can be shared anyway.

3fcd9c9425 Geometry Nodes: Support node tools in object mode
Extend node tools to display tool assets in object mode as well
as edit and sculpt modes. For consistency with existing Blender
design, selection cannot be set and is just "true" in object mode
because it can't be visualized. The visibility of tools can be
customized per object type in object mode as well.

d7b7938706 Fix #92287: focal legth not correctly computed when tracking vertial videos
The motion tracking always operates with horizontal sensor mapping, but
conversion code form tracking camera to Blender camera was not setting
the sensor fitting to Horizontal (Python code was leaving sensor fitting
unchanged, C code was setting it to Auto).

Additionally, the Python code was not handling camera shift, making it
so non-centered optical center was not handled correctly.

The reason why the code is written in two places is because C code is
used when conversion from tracking camera to Blender happens after solving
the motion, and the Python code is used for the "Setup Tracking Scene".
It is possible to unify some code, but it is not that much of an importance
at this time.

78943edc5d Transform: Custom modifier to navigate while transforming
Discussed in #114646.

This commit transforms the "alt_navigation" option of the transform
operators into a new modal key item. "PASSTHROUGH_NAVIGATE"

In addition to cleaning up a lot of the code, it allows you to
customize the key chosen to navigate while transforming.

2e084addb5 Fix #102885: IDproperty subtype can cause Blender UI to throw exception
When the subtype of a custom property is set programmatically to
something that isn't in the subtype enum of this operator, attempting
to edit it will throw an error. This check should avoid that, by simply
not setting the subtype if it's not in the enum, resulting in a default
subtype of NONE. This is the second attempt at #112582, which I broke
when messing with branches.

73c35dbc22 Fix #113433: Avoid calling registered custom node function
Follow-up fix for #113330.

The `valid_socket_type` classmethod in node trees is only available on
custom node trees (but documentation does not say that). It cannot be
used to determine if the default float socket type is valid for built-in
node tree types. We have to assume this socket type is always valid for
built-in node trees, or the operator will try to call a non-existent
method.

3931a54e08 GPv3: Initial Geometry Nodes support
This implements the core changes for this design: https://devtalk.blender.org/t/grease-pencil-integration-into-geometry-nodes/31220

The changes include:
* Add `CustomData` for layer attributes
* Add attribute support for the `GreasePencilComponent` to read/write layer attributes. Also introduces a `Layer` domain.
* Implement a `GreasePencilLayerFieldContext` and make `GeometryFieldContext` work with grease pencil layers.
* Implement `Set Position` node for `Grease Pencil`.

Note: These changes are only accessible/visible with the `Grease Pencil 3.0` experimental flag enabled.

dd9c906840 Fix #113134: Use a valid socket in node groups for custom nodes
Custom node trees may not suppor the default NodeSocketFloat socket
type. In case this default type is not supported, search all registered
socket types and pick the first one that is supported by the custom
node tree.

cf591606d1 Anim: change "Sync to Selected" to "Copy Colors to Selected"
"Sync" may imply that things are kept synchronous, while the operator
only performs a one-time copy. The new name & identifier reflect this
better.

9d4dc5376c Fix #112377: Edit Source missing info in the status bar
Reports from the internal operator weren't forwarded to the Python
operator, they were printed in the console instead.

Resolve by moving the operator to C++, use a utility function
to launch the external editor instead of an operator.

dd5b870d15 Anim: Add channel type options to the Bake Action operator
Currently, we're limited to the type of Bake Data, without any control over the channels that get baked.

With this change, the user now has a fine degree of control as to which types of f-curve data will be written to the baked action (i.e., location, rotation, scale & b-bone channels).

f2bda4ab3a Anim: move 'solo bone collection' operator to menu and add 'show all'
Move operators that act on the active bone collection to a 'specials'
context menu, just like other UILists.

The menu now contains:
- Solo the active bone collection (i.e. make it visible and hide others).
- Show all bone collections.

2d04919a82 Anim: Add operator to 'solo' the active bone collection
With armature layers it was possible to, with one click, show a single
layer and hide all the others. This is now possible with bone collections
as well.

For that I added a new operator `armature.bone_collection_solo_visibility`,
with a button next to the list of bone collections. The icon is
`SOLO_ON`, which is also used in the NLA.

1930ebdb4f Anim: add operator to sync bone colors between selected bones
Blender's "Copy to Selected" feature only copies single properties, while
bone colors consist of four properties (palette + 3 custom colors). These
can now be copied with a single click.

13f5879e3c UI: Splash Screen Changes
Updated splash screen with different options depending on whether the
user is new or upgrading. Simplifies the process for new users and
makes the choices more distinct when upgrading. Returning users also
get a link to "What's New".

9e495c5b06 Geometry Nodes: Store tool group in a separate editor property
This enables switching back and forth between the modifier and tool
contexts of the geometry node editor without losing the assigned tool
node group.

355ed0838c Geometry Nodes: Expose non-asset tools
Node tools are no longer required to be assets, and they aren't assets
by default anymore. Non-assets don't have catalogs for header menu
organization, so they are only exposed in the "Unassigned" menu, which
is now just an icon so it takes less spac, makes the connection to the
asset browser, and signals more that it's not the "final" place for a
tool. Tool node groups have fake user set by default, since they don't
have users. The "Is Tool" status of a node group is configurable in the
editor N-panel, just like the modifier status.

This is similar to af3461c387, and has the same check for
whether a node group is "local."

* Rename "Release Notes" to "What's New". A bit more inviting
  to click and sounds less technical.
* In "Getting Started", remove "Credits" since it it nos related
  to getting started, and add relevant links already present
  in the Help menu.

d1d570d318 Geometry Nodes: Don't require geometry input for "Mode to Nodes"
It's valid for modifier node groups to not have a geometry input, since
they can just be generators. The operator used to give a warning and
cancel itself when there was no geometry input. Now it works, and
skips adding the geometry input and the group input node to the
new group.
